“Noisy but worth it”
Reviewed February 27, 2013 via mobile

It was a long walk to get to the resto so by the time we got there, I was so hungry. I ordered the foie gras but it was a pate, i wanted the pan seared one. Then i got the duck confit. It was cooked well yet seasoned heavily. Overall noisy place but food was good.

“Chaotic but worth going... once”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

As with many of the famous locations in Montparnasse you can expect La Coupole to be heaving at all times. The restaurant is a massive, open-plan design rich in art deco ornaments. Expect to get cosy with your neighbours as all the table and chairs are packed in together. Perhaps "back in the day" this would enable strangers to get acquainted but nowadays it feels a little awkward when you have push past a stranger to visit the toilet!

Service was surprisingly good, with each "section" having two dedicated waiters. The fixed price menu looked very reasonable but be aware that on Saturdays you can only have the more expensive three-course menu, the two-course menu is mysteriously off-limits on Saturdays.

Food itself was very good but certainly not cheap. A bottle of wine, onion soup, steak with frites and duck breast totalled €120. It was all very nice but nothing that we will be talking about in years to come.

We were glad we made the effort to see the iconic interior and the buzz of atmosphere was really quite enoyable, but do be aware that you paying extra for the name alone.

“Very typical Paris”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

La Coupole is certainly worth a visit whilst in Paris. It is a brasserie at its best great atmosphere loads of history great service although a little noisy. The food is superb but pricey you will have to budget for a minimum of € 60 per person with wine . If you have an occasion and want somewhere with excellent food and a special but not to formal atmosphere this is the place to go

Beautiful art deco restaurant. Friendly and attentive staff. Wonderful bar and the food is delicious. Don't skip the dessert! I could eat here again and again.

“Very good food, real bistro feeling”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

Service until late in the evening, very efficient, very nice food and a very peculiar decoration (some might not like it). The place is popular with tourists and Parisians especially the later services.
