Description: Les Pipos is a journey back to real Parisian bistro culture. With a clientele composed of regulars, tourists, students from the Sorbonne and administrative workers from the French ministries across the street, there is always a convivial environment and interesting conversations going on at all times of the day. You can have a traditional french meal inspired from Auvergene, Normandy and the South of France at any time until 11pm on weekdays and 11h30pm on weekends. Les Pipos has a diverse and particular wine list for all tastes. We work with wine producers who are invested in exposing the simplicity and exquisite nature of french wines, many of which are organic (no sulfur). The owner prides himself in serving fresh produce, so makes all his purchases in Rungis (the largest fresh produce market near Paris) and has nothing delivered. All cuts of meat, fish and vegetables are hand-picked by the owner himself. There is live music every Friday and Saturday. It is best to reserve on the weekends to guarantee a table. Payments can be made by cash or credit cards (visa, mastercard, debit) but we do not accept American Express however.

I loved the quaintness of this french cafe and the service was outstanding. However, I thought my beef pepper steak was just average (it tasted like a very mediocre piece of meat). I think it might be better to stick with wine and a cheese plate.

Les Piopos is a great place to taste a French speciality - foie gras. We triad it first time so our waitress explained us everything very carefuly! She was really nice, helpful and spoke very good English!
They serve not only delicious foie gras but also excellent 'magret de canard' and 'pave de charolais'. I recomend this place if you want try French cuisine - everything is really fresh (directly from local butcher) and tasty.
They have a menu only in French but our waitress clarified whole menu step by step!

We found this place thanks to TripAdvisor based on its location, price and cuisine. Once in the list, the reviews from others sealed the deal and we walked there from our Latin Quarter hotel.
We sat outside at the quintessential tiny table and were served by a delightful, intelligent young woman named Chris (sp??), originally from New York, but now in Paris with 2 degrees to her credit and a clear passion for French food, wine and "restaurateurship ".
My wife had onion soup as an entrée (only fair) and her plat was mussels (outstanding). I went with a goose pate (terrific) as a starter and then had a steak done exactly as I requested (rare) with a pepper sauce that was sharp but not overpowering. The fries were plentiful and done exceptionally well. The meal was capped off by a reasonably priced (35 euro) bottle of St. Emilion Brand Cru (2009?) which was extremely good. There is also an extensive wine list that is not automatically given with the menus but worth perusing if you are so inclined. All in all, a wonderful meal in a vibrant, delightful setting.

This restaurant came recommended by John-Paul of Culinary Tours of Paris. It was simple, yet delicious. The waitress Cris was from Brooklyn! She spoke fluent French and obviously knew the regulars- she took the time to explain the menu to us and to recommend dishes as well as the wine. A memorable night for my husband and I! Thank you Cris! (And John-Paul!)
