Walked past Olio Pane Vino while looking for a place to have dinner that was quiet. Looked at the menu, seemed alright, walked in. From the first moment it was a terrific experience. The olive oil was decent, the ham we chose as an entrée was the best we had during our period in Paris. I had linguini with tomato and eggplant sauce, which was good, but the top marks went to the risotto with mint, which was absolutely delicious. The menu was short, really short, but there was no need for more. The desserts were also perfect. Meat was lacking in the main menu, but that was not a problem.
My experience in Olio Pane Vino was close to flawless. Quiet place, the waiters were efficient and nice and the owner strolled around the tables asking if everything was okay and talking to costumers. He even noticed we were Portuguese and spoke a bit.

After a few nights of traditional French food we weren't sure what we wanted for dinner. "Italian?" was half-suggested. After a little research one of the restaurants that bubbled up was, in fact, Italian. We conveniently booked for 8:30 using The Fork app, and set out via The Metro. Along the way we stopped to meet friends for a drink, one of whom heckled us for eating Italian food in France, (Needless to say, by the end of the trip, he had a pizza.)

We had no trouble finding the place, a small "storefront" on a fairly quiet street. We were greeted and seated immediately and enthusiastically, and when it was established that we might need a little translation help, that was taken care of quickly.

The restaurant itself nicely decorated, clean, not too bright or too dark, and neither too loud nor too quiet. About half full when we arrived, it was quickly filled, but the tables were far enough apart that we still felt like we were out alone.

We started off with a reasonably priced, excellent bottle of wine and outstanding antipasto suggested by the server.

The mains were fantastic. Both of us had a linguine with a spicy garlic and oil "sauce" with mixed fresh green herbs. The pasta could not have been cooked more perfectly and was just delicious. The portion was generous but not huge. We both finished ours with just enough room left for dessert. The white chocolate cake with the lemon cream was divine. The ice cream with the shot of Bailey's was fine, just as you'd expect. But the cake! And the lemon cream!

From the service to the atmosphere to the food, and for the price--reasonable enough for the city--we could not have been happier. It was Italian, yes. But it was also French, and it perfect night out.

Away from the busy streets, this little restaurant stands out as an original Italian. You are not spoilt for choice here. There are a handful of starters and desserts that are static on the menu and there are only 2-3 daily pastas that you can choose from. The assorted starter platter was colorful and tasty. The beef ravioli and asparagus nastri (very similar to pappardelle) were both cooked just right (al dente). The sauces were in perfect balance with the pastas. You may experience a language barrier if you are only speaking English but the staff try to overcome this obstacle as positively as possible.

We saw many positive reviews and liked the proximity to where we were staying. Our family of six were seated immediately at around 8pm. Nice restaurant with decent service. Menus are not available in English so bring a good phone app or translation dictionary. Pastas, wine and bread were excellent. They were accommodating for our 8 year old's taste and switched from sauce to butter on his pasta. Most desserts had alcohol or espresso so not suitable for the kids. Main course 15-18 Euro. Very nice dinner experience.

Beautiful dinner experience, this little place was the most wonderful discovery while visiting Paris, food was simple awesome, first course prepare nearly in front of you since a part of the kitchen is actually near the back tables. For main course they don't have a menu, just a blackboard with the selections of the day.
