I admit, my expectations weren't high for this hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Les Halles amongst some of the low-scale shops and touristy kebab stands in the area. But I was very pleasantly surprised! It has a great ambiance for a group dinner, not too loud, not too fancy, but the service is exceptional (speedy and polite) and the food was really to die for. I thought I was eating at a Michelin-starred restaurant. The menu is pretty standard Parisian fare but executed so much better than the bistros that you'll find lining the major thoroughfares. Everything about this place makes it a firm favorite when I go out for a romantic evening, a business dinner, or a night with friends.

We got there guided by opinions on trip advisor. Inside is quite not what we expected, but interesting enough. Our waiter was very friendly, and though he didn't know all the dishes in english we managed to order something (at that point we were not entirely sure what it'll be). Apetizer was very good, but the main course was so fat that I could eat only half of it. Overall it's a nice place, but could be a little cheaper for what they serve.

Went here on recommendations from Timeout guide. Exactly as they described - unflattering on the outside, jewel of a find inside. Had a duck confit with the set lunch which was very good. Crispy on the outside, moist and flavorful on the inside. My partner had the cod, which was equally good. Set menu and main came up to just over €30.

Withing walking distance From Pompidou. Open past regular lunch hours. Tried chez vong earlier but they were closed.

This place is not particularly inviting from the outside, but inside is very comfortable.
We particularly enjoyed the "7 hour cooked" veal and the mixed patisserie desert was excellent.
Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Arrived around 7:30pm on a Tuesday night and we were the first people to ask to be seated in the restaurant area. Service was fast and atmosphere improved after more customer arrived 8pm. Generally the food was very good and the staff helpfully as we didn't speak French.
