Accommodating staff, great food at reasonable prices. One of the many great restaurants around the Bastille area. Would return again.

“Amazing beef in this small Bastille restuarant/bar”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

We visited la vache acrobate for my birthday in late February. The place was on the same block as our hotel for a trip to Paris and looked enticing as we walked past each day. We were shown to a small room at the back for dining which was already quite full with other diners. By the time we left the small room was crammed with a few more groups of diners - and this was on a Tuesday evening in late February! A credit to the great food and atmosphere on offer! The place reminded me of a British Gastro Pub - lovely warm furnishings and great detailing, plus chalk board menus on the walls.

The small menu is focused on beef, but with other items on offer. We opted for main courses of cheeseburger and steak. My steak was accompanied by the most delicious dauphinois potatoes I have ever eaten. I can still conjure up the taste of them now they were that nice! My husband's cheeseburger was huge and tender, served in a home made bun with chunky chips. All wonderful!

For dessert my husband had the cheese, whilst I opted for the Cafe Gourmand - a selection of desserts. This was very indulgent but simply fantastic! My husband's cheeses were all lovely too, particularly a very flavoursome camembert.

All in all, a wonderful birthday meal. Service was a little slow but as the food was so exceptional, we did not mind. Plus the waitress was helpful by speaking to us in English and providing us with English menus too. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone visiting the Bastille area of Paris.

“Superb local Bistro”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

The atmosphere is great and the food matches it. We had perfectly cooked steaks and the fish was excellent. Desserts were equally good and all washed down with pichets of very quaffable wine. Will go back ...and back!

“Superb”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

Very good food for a very good price... The restaurant is on the corner of Rue Amelot and Rue Saint-Sabin near The Cirque d'Hiver.. Discovered it by accident in December and just can't let go of it...
Perfect for Meat Lovers, of course....
