My wife and I happened upon this "real local" place after leaving nearby Harry's Bar. We had no intentions of eating anywhere in the area, but stopped in for a cold beer. They had Leffe's on tap, which was the first promising sign.
The bartender, Olivier, also happened to be the owner, and he engaged us in conversation. We noticed the restaurant was packed with locals, and asked for a menu. Olivier ran through a few of the house specials and on a lark, we sat for dinner.
Our waitress was incredibly sweet and welcoming. Our entrees were both very good, and the baba rum for dessert was really memorable.
Olivier came by our table to ask how we enjoyed our meals, and asked what brought us to Paris. When we told him it was my wife's 50th birthday, he brought us 2 glasses of champagne!
Please visit and support this very special place, and tell Olivier that Laura and Joe send their thanks and regards

While nice and quaint, the food quality is just ok. A good port in the storm. A solid maybe next time because of the womder staff. .

We almost didn't go in as it looked a bit cafe-like but I'm so pleased we did. Great atmosphere and mostly locals which is always a good sign. The food was good with large portions. The fois gras I had as a starter was huge. (I should have had a doggy bag)
The service was friendly and served with a smile. We had a great evening and I would go again.

Next door to Adagio Paris Opera Hotel where we stayed. Went to Le Clos Bourguignon twice; both times excellent food and service. Starter plus main course and a good bottle of Cotes du Rhone Villages for around 35 euros per head. We were too full for desserts which looked super; the earlier portions were man-sized. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming with friendly banter between staff and diners, most of whom are clearly regulars. Seek out this gem. It will be busy but well worth waiting for a table while having a drink at the bar.

We were in Paris for 3 nights on 7th November but decided only to pre book the first and the last night being a Friday.
We had passed Le Clos Bourguignon many times on previous trips and read the reviews on Tripadvisor but were not convinced as it always seemed so packed. We decided to go in for a lunch time drink and discovered how friendly the staff were and the place had a buzz with the locals.
We booked a table for that night at 8pm and so pleased we did. We arrived spot on 8 and the place was packed at the front in the Bar area so we squeezed through and confirmed we had a booking. It took about 10 minutes to be taken through to a line of tables for two neatly touching each other, one was pulled out to allow one of us to sit on the long bench at the back.
From then on it was great, the waitress was talking to us in her best English, just enough to get our orders taken and a big smile the whole place was so welcoming. The 2 waitresses zoomed around the restaurant with a complete knowledge of who needed what and when & joking with the locals.
Then other diners arrived until the whole row of tables was full, not my usual comfort zone but this seemed to work and before long many of the tables were chatting, tourist with locals discussing food, wine and Paris.
The food was superb, the steak dish was mouth watering (Tripadvisor reviews) and the wine very good for the price we paid 21 euros for a lovely bottle of white . Then for desert was 'the Rum Baba' and yes they gave us a whole bottle of Rum to pour on ourselves, it was great.
The portion sizes were exceptionally generous for France, the quality of the food was excellent and the atmosphere with the hustle and bustle of the place made it very comfortable.
We will go there the next time we are in Paris and would recommend this restaurant to any of our friends.
