First of all the address I have in my receipt is actually 39 rue Caumartin. It is very advisable to ring them to book a table as it is completely busy during lunch (0147425660 if you can from Paris). This is a hard core local restaurant so the staff didn't speak much English, get a French-speaking friend or a hotel staff to help make the call. This is a very busy lunch place and you will be totally surrounded by the locals. An excellent place to experience a through-and-true French lunch in terms of food, service and atmosphere. But if you are looking for quiet French-fine dining, this robust and hearty restaurant is just not the place for it. Recommended for couples, group of friends and solo person.
The menu is only in French (maybe they have in English) but it is probably a good idea to bring a dictionary.
I was there with my Parisian friend who is a extreme picky eater (so am I), and he highly recommend this restaurant! The dish we tried was Langue de Chat de Boeuf (15.5 euros). Direct translation will be 'Cat-tongue' but it is actually one of the loin cuts. Extremely tender juicy meat with sauce so delicious that I could have swallowed my tongue eating it, potatoes and fresh salad. You can ask for median rare or median 'blue' (raw in the middle) if you are up for a bloody steak. Accordingly, this family business has consistently serve meat of very good quality over many years. We had BaBa Rum (8.50 euros) for desert, a sponge cake with whip cream and you will be given a whole bottle of very good French rum to soak it (be careful if you are not much of a drinker!). We had two of the steaks, shared a desert with a glass of wine for each of us the bill was only 46.5 euro, pretty much a very good deal in the middle of Paris! I normally don't tip much but I was so happy and impressed I paid 50€! Definitely will be back there as and when I am in Paris and will recommend it to all my friends!
