We sat, in French style, at a table for six. The four adjoining were local workers, on the next table a group of business men. From upstairs it sounded like a Christmas "do". The place was simply thrumming, all the waiters moving back and forwards with stacks of dishes. The ones from the kitchen seemed impossibly filled with food. The ones returning we're empty, good signs. We could see into the kitchen from our table so we watched the chef single handedly cook and plate up. He was cool, unruffled and efficient.
As predicted the food came in copious quantities . The main was better than the starter; the dessert excelled the main and the total price was the best value we have ever experienced in Paris.
To boot, the staff were great. The owner came and chatted, and we passed a great lunchtime there.
The restaurant is central and easy to find.
