Description: "AN EXEMPLARY BACKGROUND - the history of Parisian tea rooms is closely linked to the history of the Ladurée family. Everything began in 1862, when Louis Ernest Ladurée, man of the Southwest of France, miller of his state, created a bakery that became a pastry shop, at 16, rue Royale in Paris. The highly theatrical decoration will be entrusted to Jules Cheret. THE FEMININE TOUCH - under the second empire, with the development of Parisian cafes, Jeanne Souchard, wife of Ernest Ladurée, had the idea of mixing genres: the café and pastry shop, giving birth to one of the first of the great Parisian salons. INFINITELY MORE THAN A PASTRY SHOP - this place full of history with a refined atmosphere charmed David Holder and his father Francis, founder of the Holder group. They decided to buy and then promote and expand the famous Establishment, the Mecca of Parisian culinary creation."

Went in for breakfast on our last day in Paris. It was simply perfect. Try the Nut Croissant and the egg white omelet. After that go on to the macaroon side and treat yourself to the best thing ever and that's coming from someone who is not a "Macaroon fan".

I've lived in France for a year and i've bought macarons every time i've had the occasion( not at laduree), however these macarons were very disapointing, their taste was very normal and the texture wasn't great but the store is just amazing, it's like going back in time to the old classic Paris! And it is just perfect to take a little something while doing shopping at Champs Elysees

Made a visit to the bakery side with my daughters. Lots of variety, charming shop on Rue d' Royale. A tasty stop while strolling the street of Paris. A must do!

I am a bit of a macaron fanatic, thus a visit to the macaron shop that started it all was a must. I bought a box of 20 -with one of each flavour and every single one had such a beautiful flavour. My favourite was the Venezuelan chocolate, which may be a seasonal macaron. But really they were all on point. Me and my friend were exhausted from walking around all day so we decided to sit down for a pot of tea, seemingly tea is overpriced everywhere in Paris but it definitely seemed to be here - not worth 8€ at least. We were also told we couldn't eat our macarons there because they are charged differently in the shop and the tea salon.

Although we have Laduree in NY, it was a great added touch to say these were from Paris when giving them as gifts to family and friends upon our return to NY. The boxes are beautiful (and you pay for them in the price of the macaroons). The sugar cookies are divine as well.
