Description: "AN EXEMPLARY BACKGROUND - the history of Parisian tea rooms is closely linked to the history of the Ladurée family. Everything began in 1862, when Louis Ernest Ladurée, man of the Southwest of France, miller of his state, created a bakery that became a pastry shop, at 16, rue Royale in Paris. The highly theatrical decoration will be entrusted to Jules Cheret. THE FEMININE TOUCH - under the second empire, with the development of Parisian cafes, Jeanne Souchard, wife of Ernest Ladurée, had the idea of mixing genres: the café and pastry shop, giving birth to one of the first of the great Parisian salons. INFINITELY MORE THAN A PASTRY SHOP - this place full of history with a refined atmosphere charmed David Holder and his father Francis, founder of the Holder group. They decided to buy and then promote and expand the famous Establishment, the Mecca of Parisian culinary creation."

“Delicious”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

A charming environment with great food, delicious desserts and excellent service. For lunch today I had a shrimp vol-au-vent that was to die for...served out of a large silver bowl by the very efficient waitress (quite impressive presentation). I visit this restaurant each year and it is always consistent. Very friendly and efficient service.

“Best. Macarons. ever.”
Reviewed November 22, 2013

Laduree on the Rue Bonaparte location was recommended to us by a friend. We stumbled across it while getting lost (on purpose) in Paris. Their macarons are not to be missed. They virtually melt in your mouth. We'd recommend the vanilla and the rose petal; both were fantastic!

“Loved Brunch at Laduree - Beyond Fabulous”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

Ladurée is a French luxury bakery. Their double-decker macarons are why people come to this cute little boutique restaurant. However, the brunch is really good and very reasonable compared to the cost of what they charge for macarons.

The tea is just delicious. We even bought some to take home. The price of the macarons are very high….but, you are in Paris.

“Fancy, but nothing spectacular”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

I'm a big fan of macarons, so when my daughter suggested a famous breakfast I was all for it.
Location is great, just a few steps from place Concorde. As usual, interior is fancy with a lot attention to detail.

We had a breakfast, and it was underwhelming. Just a normal breakfast that you can get in any decent hotel. Croissants were cold, although I had to wait 15 minutes to get them, and there's nothing famous about breakfast menu.

Tables are really small (hardly enough space for two plates!), service below average (slow and forgetting), and it is too expensive for what you get.

It is not bad at all, but recommended only if you want fancy photos.
