“It's been blown out of proportion”

This was something I had on my to do list, it being listed amongst the 10 best restaurants in the world. Food was quite good but definitely not the best you can have in Paris.

“Wouah... the place to go in Paris”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2012

Some people say this is one of the 10 best places to eat in the world. I have seen a lot of good place... I confirm one of the best. A unique menu. No choice. You are asked to tell what you do not like. The rest is up to the Chef coming from le pays basque. 6 or 7 courses of light degustations with unique flavours. Undescriptible. Go there and fight to get a table... or ask your parisian best friend.

“Le Chateaubriand”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2012

What is it? A bar? A restaurant? A cafe? A mooring place for a pleasure trip around the Rance? We would recommend just the latter. Waiting 2 hours for 6 omelettes and then receiving one and a half luke warm omelettes cut into quarters. A succession of excuses, but actually in the end a threatening bill for 65 euros, pay up or we'll call the police. We had the time to kill en route to the airport but ended up feeling like committing suicide!!! Never, never, again!

“Took a reservation and then turned us away...”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2012

I can't really rate this restaurant I guess, as we were never given the opportunity to eat there!!! We made a reservation (in fact my assistant in Paris did so there could be no language confusion) two weeks to the day before arriving (as instructed). On arriving at the restaurant we were told that it was closed that night for a private function - they were very sorry, but the person who took our reservation had made a mistake. I had customers with me from Singapore and explained we had all traveled from the other side of the world - but to no avail! They plonked us in another restaurant a few doors down and offered us a bottle of champagne - but it isn't really the point!! Why didn't they ring?!?!?!

“Inventive Cuisine”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2012

This place is, first and foremost, a SCENE. If you can get past the snooty service and they'll allow you to make a reservation (even with your uncool English accent), the no-choice menu is certain to have some surprises in store. I had a good meal, but I can see where the imaginativeness might veer into absurdity. Still, it's a great experience for adventurous palates - not a place for picky eaters.
