We enjoyed 10 days in Paris over Christmas 2010.

We started at Hilton Paris La Defense in the financial district (metro zone 3) for 5 days for business, then moved to Hotel Le Six in central Paris (metro zone 1) for 5 days of vacation. As we had heavy suitcases to manoeuvre in messy weather, we took a cab from La Defense (suburb west of Paris) to Hotel Le Six in Montparnasse district. A very wise decision.

Upon arrival, the front desk angel helped take our luggage into the hotel, quickly checked us in and took us to our Deluxe room (#403). Our room looked exactly like the website gallery photos: large bathroom with a deep spa tub with glassed shower, comfortable king bed. The room had a desk nook area and 2 large windows. There were lots of areas to stash our luggage. The hotel has beautiful old world character, yet is absolutely modern (including free in-room WiFi).

Hotel Le Six is on a quiet one-way side street, but just a block from a major boulevard loaded with shops and restaurants. The only “noise” we heard was the symphony of bells on Christmas Eve from the nearby church, and the daily garbage trucks. It is located within 2 blocks of 3 metro stations: Notre-Dame-des-Champs (metro 12), Vavin (metro 4) and Montparnasse-Bienvenue (metros 4, 6, 12, 13).

Each and every one of the personnel was helpful, polite, professional, friendly and eager to please. We rarely saw any other guests (the hotel was less than half full). We felt like Ander was our personal concierge/bartender for the entire 5 nights we stayed (does he live there?). At his suggestion, we dined at Alcazar (Christmas Eve), La Rotunda and went for authentic French crepes at La Creperie de Josselin. Great choices! We also “found” Léon de Bruxelles Montparnasse and our beloved Starbucks within 2 blocks and frequented both. We enjoyed a continental breakfast every day in their spotless eating area.

We would highly recommend this hotel for its quality and location. We’ll be back!

My husband took me to Paris for my birthday and luckily, we stayed at Hotel Le Six! The hotel is centrally located (easy access to the Metro) and very clean and cozy. There is a lobby bar and live music in the evening. The room was lovely and the bathroom nicely updated (loved the shower!) The "gold stars" of this hotel is the front desk staff. They were extremely helpful, with wonderful recommendations for dining. A few restaurants not to miss: Le Timbre, Chez Marcel (across from Le Six), Le Parc aux Cerfs and Maison de Jardin. The best part - they are all within walking distance from the hotel. We will definitely return to Paris and will again stay at Hotel Le Six. Enjoy!

Hotel Le Six is a nice boutique hotel within walking distance of Gare Montparnasse. It is on a quiet side street in a busy part of Paris. The lobby is a bit underwhelming, but the service at check in was great and my room was upgraded to a suite, so that is always nice. The room was spacious and well furnished. It was on the top floor and had a lot of exposed beams and exposed brick which made me think of an old Parisian artist's garrett.

The staff were very helpful especially as there was a refienery strike on at the time, and it was a bit difficult to get around the city. They also made some excellent restaurant recommendations.

It isn't a fancy 5 star hotel with concierge and bell hops, but it was a great spot to stay when exploring the city.

Booked in for 2 nights, and they could have not done more. staffed by young enthusiastic and helpful staff. all spoke english.

room was beautiful, and nice touches with a letter from manager on check out and nougat on pillow.

i was particulary impressed with the small attention to detail - on check out a new person was starting and he made a mistake so the supervisor explained to us, then spoke to trainee and then explained what had been said - one of the best we have stayed in.

centrally positioned with great little restaurant opposite

next time in paris will definitely stay here again

A unique boutique hotel. It was perfect for our budget and the service was great. We would like to thank Ander for his recommendations of restaurant and places to see and also making coffee for us on the day we left!
