“Nice hotel with good service”
Reviewed August 20, 2011

Stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights while on my honeymoon. We enjoyed our stay very much- a lot of nice touches with eager, helpful and polite staff.

Service
The staff (that can speak english) are friendly and really quite excellent- a level of service that almost rivals hotels like King George V/ Four seasons. Everyone greets you on sight, reception staff remember your name etc.

Angela the receptionist (? at least i think she's a receptionist) was really MOST EXCELLENT and bent over backwards to help us secure nice restaurants all over paris. ALL hotels need someone like her who knows her food scene intimately well! :)

One or two staff in the evenings and early mornings that dont speak english so well, but are very friendly still and i got around that with babelfish translator. ( provided of course with the free WIFI.

Location
- most excellent location, situated a stone's throw between two different metro lines, getting anywhere at all was a breeze, not to mention the endless choices of eating places nearby, this hotel was a real gem for location. The surrounding area is generally well lit and feels safe as there's pedestrian traffic nearby at all times of the day.

General hotel environs and rooms.
Did i mention FREE WIFI? :)

Decor is nicely done and tasteful, fun without being garish. Hotel and rooms are neat and extremely clean. There are two lifts- the service lift is roomier and actually runs faster than the guest lift.

Rooms are not the largest around, but big enough with a VERY comfortable king sized bed. Decor in the rooms is again very tasteful and decently lit.

The amenities are excellent and we liked the provided slippers, the little chocolates left in our room every day by room service, an iron and ironing board, slippers, shoe cloths- the hotel seems to have thought of everything.

Food
Room service is provided up to 11pm daily by the L'Atlier restaurant nearby, but the resturant itself is 2 mins walk away and open 24 hours, not to mention about 10 euros cheaper than the room service. So why bother?

Breakfast is great and has a wide spread BUT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE HOTEL PRICE. Be careful of that! If its not included its something like 20 euros per person, which is a bit pricey considering I can get a good crepe outside for 10-15 euros.

In summary, a very nice boutique hotel with most excellent staff and a lot of very thoughtful touches. Slightly on the pricey side, once you count in the cost of breakfast, but I'd be more than willing to stay here again for the most excellent service and well kept rooms.

We stayed at Hotel Le Six for 6 nights. What I love most about this hotel is their nice and friendly front desk staff (esp. those serving in the mornings and in the afternoons) and the great housekeeping staff. The room is always cleaned properly during our stay. We like the modern decor and the very, very good condition of the room interior. My husband loved the big and comfy bed. Environment is quiet and location is close to Notre-Dame-des-Champs, Vavin, Montparnasse-Bienvenue metro stations and Gare Montparnasse.
Morgane from the front desk had been providing me helpful information about the hotel in general right from the start.
We are very delighted to receive the room upgrade.
Angela was always cheerful and welcoming and very helpful with giving directions and cruise information. My husband and I really love the Seine river cruise Angela recommended to us. The cruise dinner wasn't cheap but it was worth the money and made our last night in Paris a memorable one.
Evelyn was the one who received us upon our arrival and she was very friendly. Check-in was very quick.
Morgane, Angela and Evelyn all speak fluent English.
I agree with previous reviews that the evening staff members apparently cannot communicate very well in English and I wish we had communicated with the morning staff when we needed to see an English-speaking doctor.
Overall, we love Hotel Le Six. It was very nice to see a nice welcome fruit plate when we returned to the Hotel on our first night, and to see our room perfectly cleaned EVERY night. Thank you to those from Hotel Le Six who made our stay a pleasant one.

Those 2 words not always come together: friendly and sophisticated.
But they're good words to present "Le Six".
From the front desk (Angela was specially kind) to the maids, everyone was very friendly. The room is very nice and the breakfast splendid.

I stayed in the hotel on honeymoon trip.

Pro:
Nice morning staff. Nice hospitality, clean and quite room.

Cons:
Poor english speaking staff in evening and morning. On last day of my departure, I called the reception and asked to book a taxi to the airport. Taxi arrived 30 minutes early and I was informed by the hotel staff about its arrival. When I questioned its early arrival, I was told over the phone that the txi will not charge anything extra (no waiting charges). However, when I paid for the taxi, it charged me 22 euros as waiting charges. I immediately called hotel reception and informed him about the charges. The receptionist suggested that I have to pay for that and there are always waiting charges in Paris. I was so disappointed with the lack of communication and I have to unnecessarily pay 22 euros from my pocket. I felt that I have to pay for something which I never used.Though staff was nice, I would suggest them to hire better English speaking staff in the evening so that these incidents never happen again.
Not very conveniently located from Paris attractions.

OK let’s get this clear this is not a first class world hotel. What Hotel Le Six has going for it is its better at being what others are lacking. This not being hard in Paris with the demand so high which reduces the quality for money in the hotel market.

1. Location superb location short walks to about a dozen restaurants, La Coupole being the pick.

2. Clean and safe, the rooms were spotless and clean.

3. Small you can’t do more than sleep in these rooms being your out everyday its ok.

4. Close to the Luxembourg Gardens

5. Close to Subway and transport

6. Priced at around 200 + Euro’s a night it’s nothing to use the word’s Gem, Excellent or Great. Hotel Le Six a good hotel doing what it should at that price !!

7. Free Wifi ( Should you get points for this)

We recently stayed in this boutique hotel for seven nights by way of a package through Air Transat. We really enjoyed our stay here. It has been recently renovated. Our bedroom was a decent size with a great king size bed. Windows opened onto a small balcony where we could sit at a small bistro table, have happy-hour and soak in Paris. The breakfast was tasty and substantial (although, after seven days some variety might be nice). It has a small lobby bar where we could get a glass of Champagne from Tomas the bartender every night before bed. The location is excellent. Quiet, but only two minutes from the Luxembourg Gardens. Very close to three different subway stops on three different lines, so it made it very convienient to get around Paris. Also very close to some excellent seafood restaurants. For Hemingway fans, the hotel is about a block from where he lived (at 113 Rue du Notre Dame du Champs), and therefore many of the places he talks about in A Moveable Feast are located closeby. The staff were wonderful. Engaging, friendly and helpful, and all spoke excellent English. The cost was a steal relatively to the overall quality of our stay. We will definitely be back to this little gem.

Many fine hotels in Paris are not air-conditioned. This is OK some times of the year, but not in August, when we went. This hotel is clean, with modern, American-style bathrooms & flat-screen TVs with channels for every language. There are free newspapers in the lobby in the morning. The staff is knowledgeable, multilingual, and friendly. As with most center-city Parisian hotels, the rooms are small and feel smaller with a queen-sized bed. But the bed was extremely comfortable. The location, of course, is perfect, near many sites and near multiple metro and bus lines.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking Rue Stanislaus; they are the nicer ones.
