The apartment is superbly located in the St Germain district, and it had all the facilities mentioned in the listing. The appliances and kitchen are modern, the heating is good, the wifi is good and easy. It was reasonably quiet. Good shower and bathroom. Excellent communications with local agent and reliable reception and demonstration and instruction book. Good rubbish disposal.
We did find the bed uncomfortable, as its springs are sagging and there is pronounced roll-together. We found the sofa uncomfortable- it is a bed/sofa convertible that had a large gap between back and base. It is a small apartment; the bedroom only has enough room to ease around the bed. Wardrobe doubles as cleaning cupboard in lounge area.
This is a very comfortable place that is as advertised. It's one floor above street level. The staircase is spiral but not too tight. Rue Perronet is a one block street exactly one block off St. Germain. It has two excellent restaurants, and there is a good bakery right around the corner.
The place has a great cross breeze with the windows open. Management is very responsive. Overall great place.
This is the second time that my husband and I stayed at Iris' apartment located in the St. Germain des Pres area, 6th arrondissement, with boutiques, antique and decorative arts, galleries, combined with tons of fabulous cafes and restaurants all around. Metro lines 4 and 12 are extremely convenient located at either St. Germain des Pres, adjacent to "Les Deux Magots" cafe or just a few blocks in the opposite direction at Rue de Bac and St. Germain, even doing light grocery shopping at the Monoprix on Rue de Rennes is easy and easier still if you can speak a little bit of French which luckily I can! We are becoming real pros at using the Metro this time round and were able to transfer lines, going up and down tons of stairs as we did that. The accessibility of the metro nearby made getting around more accessible. Finally, on this trip, got to the Georges Pompadou center with not too much trouble and glad we went. What a great space! Also, glad we finally got to Monmartre which is abit of a challenge but glad we went!
From the apartment, we loved walking just around the corner to a great bakery and bringing up fresh, large, croissants and other treats. There is another right below the apartment, called "Clover" which you may want to reach. Loved walking down to the Louvre along the Seine along and spending time relaxing in the Tuileries Or, if you want to stay active, continue on and you will get to the Musee L'Orangerie, just at the cusp of the Champs Elysees. Walking to the right once you reach the Seine, don't miss the famous Pont-Neuf where you can seal your love with a "lock" or across from the bridge, take a ride on the Vedettes de Pont Neuf or the more expensive, Bateau Mouches on the Seine. Or, go to the fantastic Place Dauphine with it's surrounding restaurants, all gems!
Only one drawback is that it's on the "Premiere Etage" which means it is one flight up as there is no elevator in this building but we managed nicely and we are not youngsters!
Found lovely new restaurants and added them to my list. Just loved the entire area from St. Germain to the Latin Quarter and will definitely return in the next year or two when we make another "major" trip!
The location is perfect to travel around the city.
The size and the style of the rooms is nice and modern.
We had a great family time
We visit Paris frequently and try to stay in different areas of the city. Our choice of the 6th arrondisement was based on the variety of the shops and restaurants, lovely small streets and proximity to museums and the Seine. The apartment was perfect for our stay. It is well furnished, quiet and has all the modern amenities. I can't imagine a better place to stay in this area of Paris.
We had an amazing stay. The apartment is only a 5 - 10 minute walk to the Louvre and is really centrally located that it is walking distance to a majority of the major attractions. There is a major supermarket, Monoprix, only 5 or so minutes walk away, while there is a great bakery just around the corner. Restaurants are all around. It is certainly in a beautiful area. The apartment has all that you may want. After travelling for a couple of weeks it was great to be able to use the apartments washing machine and dryer. All the appliances are in excellent condition. It is light and airy and even though too cold for us to use, the balcony was a lovely feature. Everything want smoothly re: getting keys etc. We met with Maxim who explained and showed us around the apartment. In the apartment is an instruction manual with everything you would want to know about not only the apartment but any information you may need during your stay. A lovely touch was the bottle of red wine on the table for us. The only downside was that it was a little noisey on the Saturday night on the street outside but it did not last too long. If we return to Paris we would not hesitate to stay here again.
Beautifully decorated, centrally located apartment with real Parisian charm. Comfortable bed and sofa. Everything was perfect. Close to metro and easy to get to the best places Paris has to offer. Great shopping and restaurants nearby.
