Good value traditional French restaurant. Characterful surroundings and friendly staff. Prix fixe menu at 17.50 euro offered good variety of classic French dishes.... Confit du canard, steak, creme brûlée etc washed down with good quality and value wine by the carafe.

Location a little off rue du mouffetard but worth walking on past the other more touristy restaurants on rue de pot du fer to try this place.

In this part of Paris there are many French restaurants. One day I was passing by and saw the Pot de Terre's cheapest menu (9 euro for an appetizer + main course, or a main course + dessert). It was very cheap by French standards.

As main course I ordered chicken with tarragon and potatoes. It was a feast of a meal, which I enjoyed to the last bit. Service too was good, done in a professional manner.

Another aspect of the restaurant which I enjoyed is its quietness. Once inside you could be forgiven for forgetting than you are in a rather feverish part of Paris with its shops, tourists and markets. The Pot de Terre is that well isolated from the outside, you can enjoy your meal quietly.

They have a good selection of desserts. From their website it would appear that they can also organise a meal for groups, birthdays, etc.

A few months after my first visit, I went there again with my parents. I was a bit disappointed to note that the tarragon chicken had been replaced with something else. Instead I had a salad with herring and it still was largely satisfactory.

This is the fifth/sixth time we have eaten at this restaurant. It just gets better. They even remember us! The food choice/value ratio is excellent. Atmosphere and service are also top class. We love it.

Voilà un resto authentique, avec la nourriture Sud-Ouest; et le magret du Canard et le Cassoulet étaient tres bon. Ça fait au moins 15 ans depuis ma premier visite!

It is a nice and friendly restaurant, very good food, like homemade. I have eaten at this place for more than 15 years, the food is always good. A chose a Set Meny with aperitif, vine and Café Gourmet for 26 Euros. The Duck breast was excellent, my friend ate Cassoulet, also very good.
