We took a day off to travel to Paris and back for the big Edward Hopper exhibition at the Grand Palais. We had only ever had coffee at Terminus Nord - just an excuse to get in and admire the fabulous decor really - but this time decided to book ahead for dinner.
Having gone for the 32-euro 3-course menu and were more than satisfied. All three courses were well-prepared, well-presented and very tasty. Terminus Nord seems to be a mecca for seafood fans and many of our fellow diners were making short work of platters of oysters and large tureens of fish soup.
The only reason not to award the place five stars was that the service, although pleasant and courteous, was a little slow, perhaps understandably as by 8 p.m. the restaurant was packed. It was fortunate that we turned up earlier than planned otherwise we might have had problems catching the Eurostar. Other than that, it was a wonderfully atmospheric end to our trip. Highly recommended, but give yourself enough time if you've a train to catch.
