Almost didn't get in the restaurant. On a rainy day afternoon in Paris, after recognizing the name knocked on the door to get a reservation . After asking in my broken French , was told there was no available reservation, and they were full. As I had my hood up over my wet hair and lack of makeup, I thought that I might have been turned away due to my appearance. After retururning to my hotel, I asked the concierge if he could get a reservation. He told me no problem and within one minute had secured the reservation. On arriving at the restaurant , it was our good fortune to be seated on the top floor with " Alison" as our assistant waitress. The restaurant was not full and empty tables were around, but the girl that informed me there was no room was now serving us, " Alison". Unbelievable, and totally rude. The girl that was an assistant, had told me there was no avaible table because she didn't like the look of me. That being said, am glad I pursed and went. Food was good, as was wine. Service was good (no thanks to Alison) and my friend and I soon forgot about our unfortunate beginning.
That being said, had i not pursued, we would have gone else where which would have been unfortunate. Fyi, don't try to make a reservation when you look like a bum, they will turn you away even if they have no one to replace you.
