I took my wife to Paris for our 15 year wedding anniversary in September. We stayed at a raddison hotel which is only 40 yards from Paul Chene restaurant. It is a very small, cosy place, with around 8 tables. We had foie gras and lobster soup for our starters, Chateaubriand and the speciality Lamb dish which takes around 15 hours to prepare and cook as the mains. Then crepes for desert.
All served with the homemade bread and homemade butter and Harold's superb attention. The restaurant just oozes quality and the passion for superb food shines through. The wine list was a little daunting, but Harold was "gentle" with me. Their own orange brandy is absolutely stunning and something that they wave won international awards for. I can honestly say this is the best meal I have ever had, it is relaed and not pretentious, the servings are generous and you will not leave feeling hungry. It is not cheap, but like everything, you get what you pay for and for a special occasion, for us, this was fantastic.
