did not like the food, hated the service that was particularly obnoxious. I know that service in Chinese restaurants is not that great, but you expect the food to at least compensate it....it really was not the case

“Bait and Switch Duck”
Reviewed December 29, 2008

Don't waste your money or your time at this restaurant. The food was barely acceptable and the service was rude and terrible. Starting with the food...We ordered the whole Peking Duck. The cost for that is 45 euros. The duck is brought out and the waiter slices off all the skin and serves it in the traditional way with pancakes and hoisin sauce. So far, so good. The duck skin was typical for Peking duck and fine. Then, even though we asked to have the rest of the duck to eat, the duck was taken away to be "prepared" in a stir fry with broccoli we had also ordered. The resultant dish exited the kitchen within 3 minutes of "our" duck's entrance and contained perhaps 1/2 cup of duck meat and 4 cups of broccoli. Where was the rest of our duck??? The bird we first saw was at least 3 pounds. Adding insult to injury, the duck we were served was not the freshly roasted duck we first saw but some duck from a previous day. The meat tasted old and wasn't even heated thru. A bad bargain all around. Continuing with the service...We speak fluent french and live in Paris. This is the first time we have ever had a problem in a restaurant. From the moment we started to order, the waiter had a problem with our dinner plans. We were 3 women and ordered the whole duck, the broccoli, a noodle dish and 2 appetizers. For some reason, he didn't think this was enough food for us to be "taking up space" in his restaurant. He spoke to us only in english which he could not understand when we responded, and made rude comments in french under his breath which we DID understand. Research the other chinese, thai and vietnamese restaurants in the 13th. There are many excellent ones. We only visited this one based on a recommendation from a chinese friend who gets better food and service when she visits!
