Description: A restaurant has opened at 14 rue de la Banque in Paris and carries the name of its originator: LIZA. Liza Soughayar is very much like the place she has created; from a different Lebanon, one that is oriental and modern, simple and sophisticated... Contemporary. To express this particular image of Lebanon, she worked with her husband Ziad Asseily for his creativity and love of food. A simple menu and fresh products... Her cuisine renounces nothing; however, she reinvents the Lebanese table in a space conceived for her, in the new interpretation of old partitions. We also have a bakery sandwiches next door L de liza and we do catering upon request

“Restaurant Liza = My Second Kitchen”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2012

I have been going to Restaurant Liza for over five years and it has become my second kitchen. When in town, I go at least every two weeks, often more!
The refined Lebanese food is delicious and the menu provides plenty of options for vegetarians, carnivores, picky eaters and everyone in between.
The fixed price lunch 'plateaux' are an excellent deal for a working lunch. The dinner menu is more elaborate, and one needs to be careful not to over-order as the quantities are generous. My all time favorite mezzedes include spinach with onions, artichokes with peas, the Fattouch salad but all of the options are tasty and made of high quality ingredients.
All meat and fish main course dishes are excellent and daily specials keep things particularly interesting. The grillade is exceptional as well.
Brunch is served buffet-style with a nice, colorful presentation and special traditional Lebanese dishes that are not served during the week.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated, fresh and modern.
The service is efficient and friendly without every lacking in professionalism.
Reservations highly recommended!

“so so, worth trying but won't be back”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

This came highly recommended by a local. It was ok. That was it. Service wasn't outstanding. Food was not outstanding, and found to be very salty. Wine list so so. Won't come back and won't recommend. Too many great restaurants in Paris to waste a night out. Pricey for what it was. Noisy.

“too expensive , too noisy”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2012

the babaghannooj was good but it came with pomgrenade , which is beautiful but dose not fit the dish ,the lemonade lacked lemon , the labaneh was not labaneh ! the fried kobbeh looked beautiful but the taste was bad , the good thing about fatayer was the smale size because with its taste it was not needed ! the bread was thin , very thin and dry !
the music was not only noisy but also bad, not LIBANEES and not arab at all !
the fish tartar was nice , the kobbeh neyyeh was nice too , although it is very difficult to call it kobbeh neyyeh !

“Do NOT Miss This!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2012

A friend recommended, plus it has a "red star" in Time Out's guide book, so we gave it a try. The prices are steep, especially when used to Middle Eastern food being inexpensive, but worth every last centime. The design of the place is unique and soothing. The staff was friendly and attentive. But the food is off the charts. Try the halloumi cheese app -- it's thrown right on the grill and served with apricot preserves, or the minced lamb in yoghurt with pine nuts, coriander and served with sweet potato "crunchies" on top. Dessert was funny: my niece thought the halva ice cream with carob sauce tasted like cigarette smoke with tar. (She had a point.) And we both gagged on the rose petal ice cream, which tasted like soap. We should have gone with the special dessert or the assortment of baclava. This was an original and wonderful dining experience!

“Bad Liza”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2012

I had a wonderful meal here 2 years ago BUT the last visit was a nightmare-ice cold welcome and contemptuous service -I wonder if the owner is still paying attention to her business
Never again and I've already started spreading the word!
