Our hotel manager suggested we try this place. It was charming, unpretentious and very 'real'. Not a dive, not a tourist trap, though there were other English speakers there. Our server was very pleasant but... there was an issue with odor. The wine, however, a nice cote du rhone villages, was incredible, and our steak and potatoes were delicious. We toddled back to the hotel afterwards, full, and sleepy from the effect of a lovely night together with good wine and good food in a beautiful city. Would definitely try again but must remember to brush up on our French, as the staff did not speak English and there is no English cheat sheet (nor would you expect to find one in a neighborhood place like this).

I read the reviews on here and must say the restaurant lived up to the reviews.

The restaurant is down a quiet road in Bastille. Cosy and quaint inside. The staff are very friendly and happily translate the blackboard menus from French to English.

All food and drink is reasonably priced. I had the courgette tart, seabass and cheesecake my Husband had foie gras, lamb and fondant and we couldnt fault any of it. Tho we wish we had time to return for the beef for two.

We were not rushed even tho the restaurant is extremely busy. The majority of customers are locals rather than tourists which is always a good sign of authentic food.

A very enjoyable evening and would definitely return.

We had walked past this little bistro many times and noticed how full it always seemed, packed with locals both at lunch and dinnertime. Knowing how the French feel about their food we thought that it must be good and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed, the food is delicious and very reasonable, we went at lunch time and had the menu midi specials, which represent very good value for money. The atmosphere is authentic local french bistro, serving good food to their mainly local patrons. We will be returning to soak up the atmosphere next time we return to Paris. If you are in the neighbourhood I would recommend that you do not hesitate to try it, I don't think you will be disapointed

My wife and I went here on the recommendation of our daughter who had eaten there a couple of years previously. She had been recommended to go there by a local hotel she was staying in at the time. We were so pleased that we did. Upon entry we were welcomed by a friendly and courteous waitress who even spoke some English. She was happy to go through the menu with us explaining what was on offer. The food was delicious and represented good value for money. There were plenty of locals there too which has to say something about what they think of the establishment. This is very much a traditional French bistro so don't go there expecting anything else. By the end of the evening the place was crowded with diners.

I was taken here for lunch by the people I was in Paris to visit nearby and I'm so happy they did.

The welcome was warm, the menu comprehensive, the specials particularly intriguing, the service fast without feeling hurried.

The veal with fried potatoes was so simple and absolutely delicious. Good value for money too at around ?10 per entrée.
