Description: We own a charming and authentic bistro from 1900 and we simply offer fresh products from "le marche" that our Chef Erwan le Gahinet puts together to create very tasty French cuisine. French and world cuisine because we litterally are globe trotters of bistros. We travel for food and we bring back authentic flavours from around the globe. We do everything to make you feel at home and very welcome in our restaurant. Only one saying guides us : the pleasure to please! We are opened everyday for lunch and dinner. See you soon at BISTROTTERS!

Our experience at Bistrotters exceeded all expectations! Having read the Tripadvisor reviews, we were hoping for a good meal, but what we experienced was simply perfection. We were warmly greeted by Francois, who's youthful energy and enthusiasm set the tone for the whole evening. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the menu written on a large blackboard, has just the right amount of selections. Two of us ordered the foie gras and it was simply the best we had ever tasted. One of us had the salmon tartare which was delicious, and I had the vegetable concoction , also delicious, full of different flavors. The pork belly main dish was melt in your mouth good, the fillet steak tender and cooked to perfection. We ordered a bottle of very good red wine, suggested by Francois, which we all enjoyed. With dessert we were offered a very good Spanish dessert wine. I personally refrained from licking my plate after devouring the chocolate cake, but it was not easy! As for the service, although there was a large group of 15 people being served, we were well taken care of. Bread and water and drinks orders were brought out right away and starters served very quickly. Francois seemed to be attentive to all the tables, answering questions and translating the menu where necessary.
A note on getting to Bistrotters from the Plaisance metro station. There are two exits. One takes you to the street opposite the second exit. You need to cross the main street, and then go left to Rue Decres, then turn right on that street and walk about one minute to Bistrotters. The second which we did not see takes you almost to Rue Decres.
Quite a few people were turned away as the restaurant was full, so reservations are a must.

Excellent meal from start to finish. The belly pork and the gigot d'agneau especially good whilst you would be hard put to find better - or lighter - pain perdu and clafoutis. A decent bottle of Oliver Leflaive Burgundy at a fair price. The owner and his team go out of their way to be helpful. Well worth a visit.

We had a great meal in this charming little bistro. We were six people who all agreed that the food was excellent. The waiter did a great job explaining the menu, which is written in french on a chalk board on the wall.

Having made our reservation by email in advance, we headed off the typical tourist path to deepest darkest plaicence. It's a worthwhile to mention at this stage we found the TripAdvisor Paris app invaluable to finding location! Circa 5 mins walk from the metro we stumbled across the smaller than expected Bistro.

Entering the Premises we were immediately greeted by the Owner François who took our coats, he suggested we chose our own table. At which we opted for one at the back near the kitchen which was also populated by two further couples. As everyone in the immediate section spoke English Francois began to translate the chalkboard on the wall menu to the benefit off all three couples.

My wife selected a white wine from the extensive wine menu and I a surprisingly strong speciality Belgium Beer they had. We both opted for the three course for 32e menu, which seemed reasonable for the reputation. My wife opted for the Soup, which was slightly too cold for her preference and I the vegetable tart which was delicious! Main course for my wife was the pork belly, which she enjoyed but the sauce was just ok. I opted for the lamb which was very tasty along with baby potatoes and seasoned vegetables. Dessert was an average chocolate melting cake and a quite refreshing sorbet for my wife and the salted caramel French toast for me.

All in all it was a pretty solid meal, we left satisfied but not really full.

Now the reasons I personally cannot give Bistrotters 5 stars.

1) ordering a bottle of water, then not being brought it and being asked again if we want water...? we said yes the first time.

2) not being given any glasses for the water, I had to retrieve these myself from the table next to us.

3) not being brought bread when every other table around you has. It is quite embarrassing having to ask for bread but it looked really good.

4) it just wasn't great... it was good just something missing, perhaps a little complacency now they are number one on this site.

Thank you for taking time to review our bistro and your experience with us. We are happy that you had a good meal, and we want to take time to personnaly apologize if you didn't feel comfortable for asking for bread and for the little hiccup in the service. Our priority is to make you feel welcomed and comfortable, along with great flavours in our food. We would definitely make it up for this little off perfection experience during your next visit, as we only live by one saying : the pleasure to please. We hope to see you soon at Bistrotters!

We went to this restaurant solely on the basis of Trip Advisor Reviews, which were excellent. As we were not familiar with the area, it took us a little time to find this restaurant, although it is very convenient for the metro. Francois was very welcoming and happy to translate the menu options that we did not understand. Food was very good, as was the wine, and very reasonably priced. For me though, the best thing about this restaurant is the atmosphere, and the friendliness of all the staff who work here. We would definitely visit again, and encourage others to do the same!
