We had a great evening here after stumbling upon the unprepossessing entrance in a side street. It is small, typically French with a very buzzy atmosphere provided by the (entirely French during our visit) clientele and the lively waitress who kept everyone smiling and laughing till the early hours. We had plenty of fun trying to read the chalk board menu, the staff speak very little English and our French is patchy but fellow diners joined in and added to the enjoyment with their recommendations. Food is very traditional and very good, we had lamb and duck both of which were excellent, as was the Cotes du Rhone. Even though I turned down dessert, being completely full from previous courses, Madame brought me a free taster serving of their flan, which was delicious. When we were undecided about whether to order another bottle of wine (after three hours of eating!) we were given a bottle and told we would only be charged for what we drank - amazing service. I really can only think that any bad reviews on this site are from envious competitors or people who don't really like French bistros because I couldn't fault it.
