“A pleasant evening”
Reviewed April 7, 2013 via mobile

We went to Le Trumilou last night after reading the reviews on TA. Welcoming, friendly and traditional atmosphere! Mainly locals, eating classical dishes. The Agneau and the potatoes with it was recommendable! We also spotted both the Duck with prunes and the Beef Tartar, looked like they were worth a try, next time!

“another secret to share ...”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

Not my secret but someone let on. This is far from fancy but the people here serve good, honest and tasty food with a smile. I should have ventured further on the menu - although I was more than happy with the staple of the mousse of three vegetables, the saute'd beef and a delcious poached pear covered in chocolate, with bread to mop up the gravy and a half bottle of the house wine.

A mix of locals and visitors, some who were obviously regulars.

I will return. recommended - but try to keep it to yourselves.

“Honest good food and pinball as a digestif!”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

A most enjoyable evening. Friendly attentive service, great value-for-money and good honest food (excellent boeuf bourgignon). But what immortalised the evening was a post-prandial chat at the bar and game of pinball. I had quite forgotten how 25 years ago all French bars had a pinball machine, even then madly out-of-place in a sea of flock wallpaper and nicotine-stained sporting trophies. Already I feel nostalgic for le Trumilou and yearn to revisit.

“Fantastic”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

Our party of three dined at le Trumilou late (9:45pm arrival) on a Friday night, and it was packed and noisy - just the atmosphere you expect and want at this type of restaurant. The service was very good and the food was outstanding and very reasonably priced. Most of the guests appeared to be French, based on the language being used, but the wait staff noticed that we were speaking English and helped us order and was very friendly about it. If you are looking for great casual dining in the heart of Paris, this is a super place to try.

“Brought here by a local”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

Met a Parisian friend for a hearty, delicious dinner over a great glass (ok, bottle) of wine. It was the perfect place to take refuge during a cold, rainy night. Intimate and cozy setting, mostly frequented by locals. No-nonsense Parisian cuisine (salads, soups, fish, meats, all in delicious sauces) - couldn't have asked for anything better.
