“Fake Italian Restaurant in Paris”
Reviewed April 4, 2012

Stresa is really something that you will never understand. It is small, you seat together with other guests and share their conversation, no confort at all. Decoration there is none. The food is fake Italian food perhaps one of the worst in Paris and the price there is higher than almost all restaurants around it. Surprise: it is one of Concierges most referred restaurant!!!! Be careful, save your Euros for good and tasteful food in Paris not that expensive.

“Expensive but good”
Reviewed September 13, 2011

This restaurant is run by five brothers and they run it well. They honored our reservation, they did not rush us through dinner and the service was not over bearing certainly not Paris rude. Dinner was excellent and brought at the right intervals. The brothers could not have been more accommodating. Dinner including wine for two was $147 Euro.

“Worst service imaginable”
Reviewed January 15, 2011

The restaurant looks small and cosy at first. But don't get use to this...

As starters, we took the artichokes and ravioli in a creamy sauce and a home pizza. The pizza crust was very average, and the toppings were boring. The pasta and the artichoke were OK, although not exceptional.

I then ordered the veal escalopes (saltimbocca) and it was clearly overcooked, very difficult to chew, unedible.

I mentionned to the waiter that the meat was overcooked, thus not pleasant, he almost shouted at me that it was perfectly cooked, that if I knew better, I would appreciate it. I could not believe how rude and aggressive this waiter was. As one should know in a restaurant, the veal should be cooked 3 min on one side and 2 min on the other, to keep the veal well cooked, but still juicy and pleasant.

The restaurant's management should definitely try to teach basic politeness toward client's, and then some meat cooking lesson would be strongly advisable.

The bill for this unedible restaurant, with very average wine, exceeded 350 euros for two person. Definitely a no go. The Relais Plaza is 100m away, and the service and food are impeccable.
