“Quels steak frites!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2014 via mobile

The steak and frites were excellent - cooked to perfection. The salad was good. Drinks are not included and nor is dessert. At 26€ it is a good deal but adding wine and dessert makes a pricey dinner. It is a great concept and we did not feel rushed to finish but having a table in the window made you feel guilty for staying when you could see so many customers in line!

“eh! on the steak, Yes! on dessert”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 17, 2014

Sauce on the steak was strange. Group of 6 and we got right in at 7pm. Lines got long after that. All of our steaks were undercooked. Go a step above where you normally like your steak.

Fries were crispy and good. They offer plenty of steak as well. None of us really liked the sauce they drown the meat in either. It's a strange green sauce.

Dessert was fabulous. Tried several and all were good. LOVED creme brulee.

“It's in the sauce...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2014 via mobile

Always look forward to frequenting "l'entrecôte" when in Paris...
Sometimes no choice is the right choice...
Salad - good, meat - good, fried - good but it's in the sauce which is amazing
The house red is truly excellent as is the dessert

“Fantastic! Simple, delicious menu and great atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 14, 2014

L'Entrecote as we called it, was my favourite restaurant during my time as a student in paris, and I go back there whenever I'm in the city.

It's as simple as it gets, every diner gets the same basic walnut salad with an occasionally hot mustard sauce to start, and steak frites for main. The steak is smothered in a delicious secret sauce, which is the key to the restaurant's popularity. Many have tried to put their finger on the ingredients to the sauce, but nobody knows for sure - all you need to know is that it's delicious!

There is a dessert menu and a wide selection of wines available, but other than that, you get what you're given - luckily, what you're given tends to be very good. When you've finished your fairly small portion of steak and chips, you'll be given another helping of both - so don;t worry about portion sizes, you certainly won;t be left hungry.

You cannot reserve a table, they're so popular they don't need to take reservations, so my advice would be to turn up around 7. You will normally be able to get a table in short order at this time, wait another hour and you could be queueing up outside for a while.

In short, pop in, have a great meal in a buzzing atmosphere and enjoy a Parisian institution.

“Primal Refined”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 14, 2014 via mobile

Take a love for nearly raw meat and barbaric amounts of pommes frites and then have it served in the refined, professional manner that epitomizes Parisian restaurants.
Perfect. There is only one question you need to answer- how do you want your meat cooked? The wrong answer is "well done".
The rest is a given. You will get Beautifully cooked meat, in two servings (so it stays warm) with exquisite sauce.
Deserts deserve appreciation.
Paris can make North Americans feel like barbarians in so many ways- but feasting on tender rare meat is a very good way to enjoy a perfect primal experience.
