Description: In a setting of the roaring twenties, Chief Alexander offers traditional French cuisine, specialties of renowned among which the famous Ham with mushrooms and the inescapable Braised beef cooked in Gaillac red Wine will delight you and your guests. Film posters of the 50s, photographs of the great French actors and singers (De Funes, Piaf etc.), and retro but elegant musical atmosphere, contribute to the nostalgia of this unique place in Paris. Dishes are served in cups and pans, and the menu deals with local and seasonal products. Finally, located right in front of the Scipion Garden, not far from Boulevard Saint Marcel, Le Refuge du Passé restaurant remains in quiet and particularly peaceful surroundings. Easy parking in the neighborhood! Bon appétit!

Perfect place for dinner. I had their alp hamburger which was an extraordinary hamburger. Simple (only bread, good meat, comté cheese and a slice of tomato and a bit of hamburger dressing), served with a couple of slices of fried potato on the side. Tasted very well!

One of our highlights from our visit to Paris. Service was fantastic and fun with the food blowing us away. Craft beers, great wines and a price tag that was amazing value.
The ham and duck wrapped in cabbage, may not sound great, but it was really really good. Our waiter was fab and really looked after us.
Very happy to recommend this quirky, off the main road little restaurant.

During our week's stay in Paris we ate twice at Le Refuge and would have gone again if we could. The ambiance, food and service is something very special and we love eating there. Nicolas is the perfect host, engaging, friendly, charming and makes sure that you enjoy the whole evening. Such is our love for this restaurant that we book the days when we are in Paris and the times of our transport to fit in with the opening times. If you are a visitor to Paris you may not find the restaurant easy to find but make the effort to seek it out and you will not be disappointed. This is a restaurant for those who want to eat good french food and feel part of the culture. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

We had a great dinner at this lovely, out of the way, small family restaurant. I loved my stuffed cabbage and my husband had the beef bourguignon.
