Description: RECH, ALAIN DUCASSE’S SEAFOOD RESTAURANT IN PARISMore than just a seafood restaurant, Rech is an institution dating back to the 1920s and taken over by Alain Ducasse in 2007.It is a must of the capital’s restaurants with its elegant décor and prime location in the heart of Paris’s 17th arrondissement, just minutes from the Arc de Triomphe and Place de l’Etoile. Delicious cuisine from the sea with a hint of Mediterranean traditions, the finest ingredients, ideal pairings, clearly the height of good taste. Young chef Adrien Trouilloud’s talents combine exquisitely with Jacques Maximin’s creative impulse. Discover the dishes that have made the restaurant famous, such as its Grenobloise-style SKATE fish or the pan-seared line-caught SOLE, sautéed baby potatoes. Or make your selection for the finest tailor made seafood platter, and take it away.

“Best sole in town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2013

Positive:
* Excellent Service
* High quality of food
* very good menu
* nice atmosphere and interior (but nothing outstanding)
* portions are BIG, you can't eat 3 courses without being completely full

Negative:
* was here for a Bday and asked upfront whether they can make a mini-cake with candles and they declined, wouldn't expect this given the high prices (300 Euros for 2 persons)

“A great meal, great service, good atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2013

We went to Rech as part of a day out for our small company team. They gave us an excellent value meal, with outstanding service. The seafood is fresh and well balanced.
They responded quickly to changes for vegetarians and the wine while expensive was great. I'd say great for a part of group as well as for more intimate dining.

“A top notch restaurant worth considering.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

We wanted to celebrate a special birthday and this restaurant made it a wonderful night. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Food that was absolutely great with a menu that satisfied the six of us. And a wine list that was so complementary. The price was on the higher (but not highest) side but worth every euro. It was just a great meal.

“Very good ... but just not excellent.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 17, 2013

I took my wife to Paris for her birthday and reserved a table at Le Rech for her birthday dinner. To sum it up - it was very good ... but just not excellent.

Le Rech being an Alain Ducasse restaurant we had high expectations when we entered the restaurant. The room downstairs is a very plain bistro style room and unfortunately lacks some atmosphere (which e.g. Benoit and Aux Lyonnais both have). Well, we were here mainly for the food so we took a good look at the menu and decided to go for "The best of Jacques Maximin" menu. We went for a bottle of Chablis which was very good and complemented the entire tasting menu nicely.

The starter grey mullet carpaccio was unfortunately a miss. The second course (raw and cooked green asparagus) was very good and the fillet of John Dory which followed was excellent. Unfortunately it contains little pieces of bacon. My wife - being a fish eating vegetarian - was a good sport however. Too bad though that we had told the staff that my wife is a fish eating vegetarian ...

Given the size of the dishes we were quite happy that a piece of Camembert and the hazelnut icecream with chocolate sauce followed. As such, unfortunately two out of five courses of the tasting menu were non-fish courses which is somewhat disappointing for a fish restaurant.

We probably will not go back any time soon as there are too many other restaurant to try in Paris but if we do we would probably just order a la carte.

The price tag of this evening - it was expensive but the wine especially added to the bill - and it felt too little value for the amount of money you pay.

It was not the fish restaurant I had expected it to be. It was a nice evening but somewhat disappointing for an Alain Ducasse restaurant.
