Only native voices ring out in this marvellous little bistro. Oh that there were more like this with a good wine list including clean skins, generous portions of French dishes including good rillettes, Duck pate and the like for entrees, good Andouillettes, lamb, steaks and fish for the main course and a really good cheeseboard. This was our third visit so we have got to know that a shared entrée, shared cheese and a main course each, with a bottle of wine makes a filling evening meal. Somehow visiting tourists have missed La Gavroche, long may it last!

We booked this place for a meal after going to the Opera Garnier - about 7 mins walk. It is open late, so good for meals after a show. This is a small, noisy, very jolly Parisian bistro. It is just how bistros should be, but rarely are. Wines list features Beaujolais, and good swigging stuff it was. Food is as expected - great terrine, steak frites. The place was crammed with a raucous crowd of locals, and we had a great time - most fun in ages.
Highly recommended.

We were brought here by a local Parisian and the experience was priceless. This is a no frills place. Do not be mistaken. We were there for about 3 hours and it was very cozy. Amazing rillette, wine, pave and service. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to not be a tourist for the night.

Dont go anywhere else if you want a true Parisian experience this is a wonderful wee bar and restaurant where you are welcomed with open arms and treated to the real France. We were the only tourists there it was packed with Parisians young and old. Traditional fare with exceptional hams and meat. we didn't want to buy another bottle of wine so we asked for two glasses which at the end the owners gave us on the house we loved the atmossphere and all the French people speaking at the same time a fabulous wee gem which I thought twice about writing about as I want to keep this place a secret!!

for our last night in paris we wanted a real "locals" spot with no tourists where we could enjoy a great last meal, good house wine, and just a friendly atmosphere. this place delivered!! they made a steak "hamburger" for our youngest son and they brought the largest plate of frites to the table we had had in paris...a great relaxed night! we ordered several starters - all were good....everything was delicious. Our children are 10 & 13 and very well behaved. if your children are squirmy (ours were once!) this might not be the place for them.
