“great host !!”

We loved being greeted by our host(owner) in his Mickey Mouse tie (ask him about it) . We loved our meal of stuffed cabbage and veal. Be sure to make reservations..it is small, but worth it !!

“Our second visit was just as wonderful as our first!”
Reviewed November 14, 2013

We discovered Le Florimond in October, 2011 when it was recommended by the desk person at our hotel. We knew we'd have dinner there again when we returned to Paris in October. We arrived on a Friday morning and, after dropping our luggage at the hotel, walked to Rue Cler. As we passed Le Florimond, Laurent (one of the owners) was out sweeping the walk. Whether he actually remembered us or not, he greeted us like old friends! We asked him for the reservation on Monday and he said he'd take care of it. When we arrived for dinner, he'd reserved a little table by the window for us.
It is such a quaint little restaurant! On our last visit, there were only French menus so Laurent explained every item to us in English. This time he had English menus, but he still came by to answer any questions and explain the specials that were on the board (in French). After we ordered, he also recommended wine for us. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. This is truly French "comfort food". Be sure to save room for dessert!

The young man (I think he may have been Laurent's son) who was helping serve, left the restaurant before all the diners were gone. He made a point to stop by each table to say good night. Personal attention is definitely given to all of the diners. Our next trip to Paris will definitely include another visit to Le Florimond.

“Great Hidden Gem!”
Reviewed November 12, 2013

My husband and I were recommended to go here from a family member who visits here frequently. We were not disappointed! Laurent, the maitre d' was very nice and accommodating. We made reservations a few days before for a Friday night at 8pm. It is a very small restaurant, so reservations might be key unless you get there very early. The food was great and very fresh. There were specials on the blackboard which my husband tried, and I ordered off the set menu. The dessert was also fabulous! At the end we even got a photo with Laurent!
Of note, there are two addresses of 19 on the street, so our cab driver was very confused and we arrived a few minutes late. They accepted credit cards, but not AMEX.
I would definitely return again!

“A really great neighborhood restaurant”
Reviewed November 5, 2013

This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend before we left home, and it's also included in the Rick Steve's guide book. It's for a very good reason. This is one of the most pleasant dining experiences we had during a recent four-week trip to France. If you're staying in the Rue Cler neighborhood, Le Florimond is just around the corner. We were about a 5 minute walk from it, and that included waiting for the pedestrian signal to cross Avenue de la Motte-Picquet.

We made the reservations through our hotel, and because we were very flexible on times, and days, we had no trouble getting a seating. This restaurant serves a lot of American tourists along with its neighborhood clientele of French residents and American expats. As a result this restaurant almost has two shifts each night. If you go at 7:00 p.m., you'll be seated in the small dining area with a lot of Americans and Canadians. At 9:00 p.m., the crowd is mostly French. We just wanted a good meal, so we didn't care what the time was for our seating. We weren't disappointed. The meal was excellent. With wine (which was great, by the way) the cost for us came to about 80 euros. That's not the least expensive dining option in the area, but if you want to splurge and have an authentic experience, we felt like it was more than worth the money. You could easily spend a lot (and I do mean a lot) more and not dine nearly so well.

The staff was friendly and efficient. The owner has excellent English language skills. If you're in this part of Paris, this restaurant is worth a visit.
