The food is typically french with an exotic touch. The view of the lake is amazing. Reviewed January 28, 2012

The situation in the Bois de Boulogne is interesting, but the quality of the food could be better.

“Good value in a delightful setting”
Reviewed December 23, 2011

This well-appointed and comfortable chalet-style restaurant is on an island in the Bois de Boulogne. There is a free ferry service to the island (two-minute crossing). We chose the EUR 27 three-course lunch. The food is a little more original than in most restaurants in the same price range, well presented, servings are generous, and the restaurant represents excellent value for money. The wine list is well thought out and contains some good value wines. The views of the trees and water add to the experience.

“Simply bad food”

Location is the only good thing about this place. The food is nothing special and definitely not worth the price.

“Food was great, service was terrible!”
Reviewed March 24, 2010

This place is charming and a little enchanting. My fiancee and I were actually thinking how perfect it would be to have our wedding reception there.

We ordered wine and starters, and that went without a hitch. Then suddenly things started to go down hill REALLY fast. The food was overall very good. Unfortunately, we had the bad luck of getting a terrible server. She seemed particularly clueless whereas the rest of the staff were running circles around her.

She was very short about everything. Had absolutely nothing to say recommend, etc.She gave one of us the wrong entree, which the manager promptly corrected. After that, she never returned to our table for a solid half hour! At which point I got up demanded the check and spoke to him about the service.

He credited us several glasses of wine and our sparkling waters, he did express a somewhat sincere regret. We dined at six different restaurants and received great service at all of them except this one, and unfortunately this one had a lot of atmosphere going for it!!!!!

“Very beautiful and romantic”
Reviewed December 31, 2009

My husband and I dined at Le Chalet des Iles in September 2009 for our 20th wedding anniversary dinner and we had a wonderful time. It was still warm enough to eat outside with the help of the heat lamps. The staff was very helpful in helping us translate the menu (it was a new menu and no English version was yet available) and the food was delicious. Great ambiance. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a romantic getaway dinner. I would also love to come back and experience it at lunchtime in warm weather -- it's such a beautiful spot that I'm sure it would be perfect for lunch. It was fun to take a little boat trip over to the restaurant as well. The only negative is getting there --it is too difficult to walk to -- you have to cross a very busy intersection and it's just so out of the way that it's hard to find -- take a taxi for peace of mind. Enjoy!
