Our hotel recommended this restaurant which we visited on Easter Monday. our reception when we went in to the restaurant we could only describe as cold, we were shown to a very small table beside a pillar and left to find a place to hang our coats. There were lots of other tables available but we weren't given any choice. The menus were handed to us with no effort to explain anything. we tried as best we could to interpret them, no one hung around long enough to ask if there was an alternative. We asked what the "starter of the day" was and the reply was "non" which we we assumed was "not available". There doesn;t appear to be any "a la carte" option, only the menu for 39 euros. We placed our order and when we asked about the various red wines and what was the difference between them, the reply was that it was a choice of young or old or what region in France we wanted to choose. We picked a Cote du Rhone which was subsequently plonked open on the table and was freezing cold as if it had come from a fridge. Not what we were expecting. In any other circumstances we would have questioned this or even sent it back but no waiter hung around long enough for us to even ask a question. The food when it arrived was good apart from the avocado starter which was very bitter. As an experience if the service had been better we would have rated it at 8 or 9 out of 10 instead of 5 out of 10. We definitely felt that we were a nuisance. What was even more surprising was when we were given the menus again to choose dessert we were given an ENGLISH menu!!! Why could this not have been offered to us at the start?? This could be a brilliant place to eat but unfortunately I wouldn;t recommend it to anyone and will be giving this feedback to our hotel as we found the service colder than the wine!
