Description: La Grande Cascade is a gourmet restaurant located in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne. For a romantic dinner in winter or an alfresco lunch on a sunny day in summer, La Grande Cascade is the perfect rendezvous for anyone who loves fine dining and beautiful scenery in Paris. Yet La Grande Cascade has not always been a restaurant, and this explains its unusual and truly exceptional decor. It was originally a lodge where Napoleon III, who came to the Bois de Boulogne to hunt, could take a rest. Over the years, La Grande Cascade has changed with the times while maintaining its unique "retro-modern" style. Inside, the gilding, chandeliers and mirrors offer a distinct charm to a residence that has retained its period magnificence.

This was our first fine dining experience during our honeymoon in Paris. It was such an unforgettable experience. We booked via thefork in order to get the 40% discount off Al Carte menu only. (not valid for degustation / tasting menu) The moment we stepped in, we were dazzed by the interior and the friendliness of the staff. We've ordered two entrees (paste and truffle and lobster) and two mains (lobster and beef with duck foie gras) The lobsters were extremely fresh and the duck foie gras was simply amazing. We thought it would strange not to order any wine as we don't like to drink alcohol, but the staff were extremely polite and offered us mineral water instead. We didn't even have the desserts because we were so full already after the mains.

Since we had to take the taxi back, one of the staff offered us to book us one and advised us when the taxi has arrived. Once it has arrived, we were escorted out like value guests. No wonder this restaurant was highly reviewed on thefork site by local French diners. With the 40% discount offer, this restaurant has simply exceeded our expectation.

Gorgeous setting and great service. We really enjoyed visiting. The food we had was lovely and the staff were very helpful. We were a large party visiting for a special lunch which we had booked in advance.

Let me preface this by saying this is not the type of restaurant we frequent.

That said, we were on vacation with my in-laws, and they wanted to make sure we made the most of their (and my) first trip to Paris.

This restaurant, Napoleon's old hunting lodge, is probably the fanciest place I have ever eaten. The waiters brought over tiny ottomans on which my wife and mother-in-law were to place their handbags. The hillside around the restaurant is peaceful and forested, making it feel like you are further outside of the city center than you are, and the interior is fantastically beautiful and ornate.

The staff was polite, responsive, and took great care to monitor our needs without ever giving us the impression that they were hovering. Every dish and wine was explained to us in English (my in-laws speak no French), and we felt comfortable and cared for the entire time.

If you can afford it, I highly recommend La Grande Cascade. I would go so far as to say just trust them and choose the chef's tasting menu with wine pairings; you won't be disappointed.

This would be an especially nice place for a romantic dinner for two.

We made the mistake of thinking we could get into Le Cinq for the last night of our Paris stay once we arrived at our hotel but it was unfortunately fully booked. The hotel, instead made all the arrangements for us to eat at this lovely restaurant and we were very happy we did. As you would expect from the other reviews, this restaurant, whilst pricey, ticks all the boxes in terms of service, friendly staff and, of course, fantastic food. A fitting end to a lovely Paris trip.

La Grande Cascade was a truly delicious and fine French dining experience. The beautiful dining room sits in the Bois de Boulogne close to but a world away from the hustle and bustle of Paris. the glassware, flatware and cutlery and service items are spectacular and you are treated as a valued guest. the staff genuinely want you to have a fabulous experience. sometimes solo diners are given a poor table; not so in this lovely restaurant. i had a full view of the gardens as well as the dining room and felt very involved in the whole experience. I took the €75 menu option and with matching wines it was €96. I ordered the foie gras, the riz d'agneau (lamb sweetbreads- definitely a dish I'd only order in France) and a fabulous meringue strawberry dessert. Each course was meticulously and beautifully prepared and presented and the flavours- words cannot convey how magnificent they were ! The service was wonderful and the ambience, perfect! I can't wait to come back - so friendly and so professional with an emphasis on creating a whole fine dining experience and beautiful ,memories! Merci Mille fois!
