“A delicious dinner to be had”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2012

Stopped here for dinner our last nite in France. After 25 days exploring France, this dinner meal ranked in the top 5. Best dinner in Paris (5 nites). Beef shank was superb. The preparation of the peas was unique and enjoyed. Nice bottle of wine, too. Highly recommend.

“Lovely cuisine, wine & atmosphere!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2012

We were exceptionally lucky and were able to walk in on a Wed night around 7:30 without a reservation & were seated right away. The atmosphere is intimate and romantic, surrounded by white linens, flowers and candles on the mantle piece. The owner was most attentive and supportive in helping us with our selections. We began our meal with a glass of champagne, followed by simple salad of tender greens, and then moved on to a lovely serving of filet of beef. The poivre preparation was delicate and a perfect compliment to the beef. It was accompanied by roasted red pepper garnish, and the best au gratin potato side we have had the pleasure of consuming. The meal was complimented by a great bottle of a Saint Emillion Grand Cru from Clos Des Moines. Dessert was a lovely treat. We chose a lighter dish, the red berry soup, which was a lovely portion of fresh berries infused in a hibiscus tea with mint. Though simple, it was elegant and the perfect compliment to the dinner. We also had the chocolate and pear cake, which was delicious. Compliments to the chefs, and to the owner. And very responsibly priced, especially given the high level of service and cuisine.

“The best dinner during our week in Paris”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2012

Our family of six adults dined at L'Orangerie last week and everything was wonderful. The food, the atmosphere, the service all were magnifique! We actually arrived a few minutes before the restaurant was open and the proprietess was nice enough to seat us. Soon the dining room was packed with tourists (the restaurant is featured in Rick Steve's Paris guide-so there were many tourists there) and locals alike. We all ordered off of the prix fixe menu and all of the traditional french dishes were delicious. The servers speak English well and were very gracious given our rudimentary French. They also have a wonderful wine selection and the house Bordeaux was one of the best we had in our week in Paris. We will definetly be back on our next visit.

“Nice surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2012

The bread with fromage blanc was a nice beginning to a thoroughly delightful evening. The servers were nice, the pâté was extraordinary, the chopped salad was delicious and the crabmeat was an unexpected addition. The duck was perfect and the lamb chops were perhaps the best I've ever had. What a great evening!

“Terrific restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2012

Recommended by our hotel as the best restaurant on Ile Saint-Louis, and we agree. You know it's going to be good when you come in and find several locals eating there; not just tourists. Traditional french cuisine is served, and it did not disappoint. We chose from the prix fixe menu, plus a couple of a la carte items and enjoyed a most delicious meal. Decent wine list, as well. Pleasant restaurant decor celebrating cinema and old films. I'll be eating there again next time I'm in Paris.
