Description: In the heart of the 4th district; the Marais district, Enoteca is a fine Italian restaurant that has made a name for itself for its love of wine. The restaurant has its own discreet and rustic charm with its ceiling lights, beams and visible stonework. Its warm colours also give it an inviting mood. The Italian dishes are prepared with regional produce that are imported directly from Italy. The wine cellar was voted best Italian wine cellar, with 400 labels.

The decor and vibe in L'Enoteca was great. The service was fabulous, all the wait staff were happy and gregarious. We felt welcomed and had fun. The food was delicious. The pasta special was very good, as were the veal specials. Their wine list was good and we were able to get a very nice chianti for a reasonable price. The restaurant was really buzzing when we arrived and a lot of people lingered over their meals. You didn't feel rushed to finish and leave. Highly recommend it.

Wandering around Le Marais looking for a place for dinner, our minds were made up for us by a huge downpour - we were standing right by this restaurant and took refuge from the rain here.

And what a find! The menu was very short - maybe three or four pasta dishes and a couple of other choices - but you could tell, when the food arrived, that it had been prepared with care. The food is simple Italian, just perfect. And the tomato sauce I had with my pasta was the sweetest I have ever tasted.

A very interesting building, tables quite close together which makes for a very cosy and informal atmosphere.

It used to be one of the finest italian restaurants in town. Now it's just ok.
It used to be one one of the best deals for lunch. It's not anymore eventhough the new owner maintened a cheap menu for lunch.
It used to be one of the best menu including 3 differents wines for dinner : all gone.
Had some pasta con legumi. Strangely my dish looked a lot smaller than the ones on the next table which had friends of the house... Just a coincidence ?
Rather small portion of pasta, too much oil and overcooked legumi.
Parmesan cheese was not on the freshly grounded side and was definitely not of quality.
I will give it another try, in memory of what it used to be and hopping the new owner will bring the place back were it was.
PS : please, do change the music and don't play it so loud.

We arrived at our apartment a few doors away from L'Enoteca just before lunch. Being hungry we went straight for the closest place we could find. We secured one of the last tables and settled for the set lunch. Tables are close together so it wasn't long before we were in a dialogue with our neighbour. The place was buzzing, service was friendly and the food, pasta for me, Carpaccio of Beef for my wife was really very good. The wine included with the menu was very acceptable. All in all, nothing to complain about. Maybe not fair to judge a restaurant on a set lunch but it was more than good enough to warrant investigating for dinner on another occasion.

We dined at this restaurant in February with another couple. The menu was very limited and not what we expected. We didn't have time to check their menu in the internet and thought this restaurant was going to have a traditional varied Italian menu with lots pasta and meat dishes to chose from. My ravioli main dish tasted very bland, my partner and our friends had pasta with ragu sauce which was just okay. Service was very poor. The waiter serving our table, obviously Italian who could not speak English well and felt uncomfortable with English speaking tourists. He seemed to be fine with the french people sitting at the other tables. He was actually rude, serving our dishes by banging the plates on our table and not at all interested whether everything was alright. He also made a mistake with one of our orders. A waitress and young waiter were also serving us at some point, and they were at least polite and made an effort. The Italian wine was fine but overpriced. If you are looking for a traditional Italian restaurant which offers a varied menu with good fresh food and good service with friendly staff, I do not recommend this restaurant and will not be going back there.
