It was really very interesting and tasty experience! Interesting and tasty food! The chef was great and very modest.
Great and not boring service, which was organised in really nice and professional way! The whole team spoke perfectly english which is also nice.

It seems that a meal at a three Michelin star restaurant in Paris should be one of the best in the world. Not quite.

The setting here is wonderful and we were seated at an amply-sized table upstairs, where there are only two tables. We sat there, amazed at the beauty of the surroundings, anticipating a wonderful experience.

The problems began with a young man, who i presume is the sommelier, although several of the staff were involved with the wine service. To be blunt, he was unfriendly and bothered by our being there. We settled on a bottle of red for the several of us and I later decided upon the pairing for myself.

Two other servers, a man and woman, were quite professional and friendly. A second woman however, was a disaster. Unfortunately she was the primary server for the wines. Each time I was to receive a new glass, she either presented the wine and actually served it sometime later, even half way through the course, or served it in advance of the course and then came back at some point later to describe the wine. More than once each of us had an empty water glass and even those drinking from the bottle we ordered found their glasses dry. The man and other woman serving seemed quite disturbed each time they came to our table, yet no one stepped up to correct the deficiencies. Disappointing.

The food of course was flawless. Course after course was perfectly executed and enjoyable but honestly there was nothing amazing, original or memorable. Not every dish needs to be a wow, but give us something that stands out.

I'm honestly surprised that L'Astrance carries three stars. Certainly one star, maybe two, but we've eaten at at least half a dozen lesser starred restaurants with truly amazing, innovative dishes served by a far more competent staff.

As we departed, the disaster woman dropped and destroyed a beautiful piece of stemware. That seemed to sum up our experience. I'm sorry but I cannot recommend L'Astrance when there are so many superior restaurants in Paris.

We have a reasonable experience with fine dining in the US, and the meal we had at L'Astrance was in a class with the very best--Per Se, Benu, Le Bernardin. We were asked one question by the impeccable staff as we sat down: "Is there anything you don't want to see on your plate?" From there began a procession of exquisitely conceived, prepared, presented and served dishes that each dazzled unfailingly. We did the wine pairings which were imaginative and generous, well worth the additional 50 euro charge. The base price of 75 euros for the lunch represents an astounding bargain, if that matters at this quality level. The experience exceeded our lofty expectations. Of note, the photos of the restaurant I had seen do not do it justice. It is elegant and tasteful, though not in any way ostentatious. The service was handled beautifully by 4 floor staff. I can't recommend highly enough.

One of the best culinary experiences ever! Exceptional down to the very last detail. We booked a table five weeks in advance, ordered the three course lunch and it did not disappoint. We thought there was an error because new dishes kept being presented - seemed like much more than a three course meal. Everything was just lovely - highlight of our trip. Exceptional doesn't quite cover it - magnificent!

L'Astrance is a restaurant worth the time to carefully make either lunch or dinner reservations well in advance of your visit. Once there, enjoy the well thought out courses and definitely opt for the wine pairing with your meal. There are many photos of L'Astance's signature dishes online. My favorite was the first course paper-thin cut white mushroom layered with paper-thin apple slices then layered with pate. Repeat until the dish is about four inches high then cut it into a slice that looks like an apple pie piece! L'Astrance is out of this world and I am so glad I was able to experience L'Astrance!!!! Merci, Chef!
