My friend, Karen, does a walking tour of the Jewish quarter and this is the place she takes all her tour groups to, including Lenny Kravitz (whose endorsement is posted on a plaque). I was just lucky and happened to order my lunch from the correct place (as I was then new in town). I had the vegetarian falafel sandwich and a can of chilled Orangina for about 5 euros, and the falafel was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. A delicious way to enjoy walking around the Marais on a sunny day.

Be ready that you will wait in the line but you will have great falafel! We were waiting around 20 minutes to get falafel to go. After we got it we went in one small cute french park and enjoyed our meal. Restaurant itself offers different food from middle east kitchen, but you will not make mistake with falafel. Plus, area of Marais is very beautiful.

This place has an excellent atmosphere and is a popular place for inexpsensive lunches etc. The staff are friendly, informal and helpful. We shall be back next time we are in the Marais.

This place is practically a hole in a wall, where the ques are always long (sometimes an hour), with prices generally comparable to other similar restaurants in the area and the city.

However, the wait is definitely worth it, offering a unique blend of hummus, falafel and eggplants. Now with their claim as the best falafel house in the world, I doubt, but in Paris, most definitely, considering the owners and staff combined the best of the Middle East and Jewish cuisine to whip up a falafel that'll make you come back for seconds.

So we heard the good word on this little joint from some expat friends who had lived in Paris for a year. "No matter what you do, see, experience, no matter where you go, even if the sky is falling, you have to go to L'as Du for the best Falafel on the planet."

What can i say.. they were right.

Your going to have to wait for it! Its going to be messy. The decor is nothing worth mentioning, think 1985 Mcdonalds meets 1975 diner.

But O Man brother.
