Description: Bold, new and spectacular, the KONG was born on May 26th 2003. From the kitchen, decor and music, nothing was left untouched to ensure the success of this UFO that landed on the rooftops of Paris. Laurent Taieb dreamt up this creation, he hardly slept and still doesn't, in order to ensure the smooth running of his beautiful machine. From the very beginning, he has always been accompanied by his faithful talented team. 10 Years later, the daring and hard work has paid off with friends and success waiting in the wings : Philippe Starck took care of the decor, Richard Pommies, the kitchen, Beatrice Ardisson, the decks, and finally Ara Starck, the paintbrushes ! The atmosphere of the KONG bar entwines both the intimate character of a cocktail bar with the refinement and elegance of a luxury hotel bar. KONG infuses a mixture of a relaxed and elegant, classy and entertaining, lively and friendly atmosphere. On the 5th floor of a Haussmann building, every window boasts a different view: the Pont Neuf, Henri Sauvage's Art Deco design of the Samaritan building, Art Nouveau by Frantz Jourdain, the Seine, the Louis Vuitton HQ... On May 26th 2013, KONG was renovated, restored, refurbished and restyled to celebrate a decade of success and to enjoy the next decade in style and of course, good company.

Went for dinner Saturday evening together with my friends.
A lot of mix up with the food, first one dish came out wrong and then one of my friends didn't get her dish until we asked for it, 10 minutes after the others.. Waiter acted as if it was our mistake not making the waiters aware of it, (even if we tried...) No excuse at all..
Will never go again and will not recommend the place to any of my friends..

Food was good, but unfortunately the waiters forgot one of the dishes and one rice on the side. The waiters did not notice untill we pointed it out, and then it came after 10 more minutes of waiting. We did not get any discount on the bill, and were scowled at when we said that the dish - late as it was - should've been for free. Will never come here again.

We went for lunch, as we were slightly put off by poor reviews-was intending to go for dinner but didn't want to waste one of our nights in Paris in case it turned out to be be disappointing.
Anyway, yes the dining room at the top is very nice and if you are lucky to be sitting in the right direction you get a nice view of the Pont neuf and river. If you don't you get to see the run down roof top of the old department next door.
The menu is french asian fusion and is quite pricey. However quite delicious. My partner had an excellent tuna steak and delicious mash, while I had udon noodles with lobster.
Service is very cool and typical Parisian.
The decor is different and contemporary.
I'm glad we didn't go for dinner-lunch was fine. Glad I went but don't think I would go again.

This restaurant is brilliant from the second you walk in. Bouncers greet you at the door and guide you to the 5th floor where the restaurant is situated. The design inside the building is excellent and you immediately feel like you are somewhere special.

The restaurant itself offers amazing views of Paris through the glass roof and windows. The whole design of the room is very modern and fashionable, you feel like you are in the hub of Paris' fashion quarter.

The menu offers a good selection of starters, mains and deserts. They are all quite pricey but all thoroughly enjoyable. The bill came to around 200 Euros which included a 47 Euro bottle of wine.

The steak was one of the nicest steaks i have ever tasted.
The desert menu is equally as impressive as the mains, we had chocolate spring rolls which were again on of the nicest deserts i have ever tasted.

After payment we proceeded down a level to the bar/club which is a very trendy and modern scene.

The overall experience could not be faulted in the slightest. The best restaurant we have visited in Paris. 10/10.
