Dropped in here while resting between exhibitions to catch a glass of wine and a snack. The view out to the Parisien skyline veiled in the light afternoon drizzle made it a perfect experience. Sit by the windows.

Facing the main entrance of Centre Georges Pompidou, take to your left, up the stairs and you will see the elevators to your right hand. Take the elevators to the 6th floor and be dazzled by this restaurant.
Everything here is delicious but if you like prawns don´t miss Risotto Aux Gambas Snackées €34. You will not regret it. Also any of the salads and desserts are to be missed.
Staff is exceptionally polite and efficient.
Take the best pictures of Paris from their terrace.

After a long train ride back from Charles-de-Gaulle airport, we arrived in front of the Pompidou Centre and tried to make our way in. The security personnel told us that the restaurant entrance was not inside the centre but was unclear as to where it actually was. It was only after circling the Centre almost twice that we found an elevator to the restaurant, which didn't work. Finally, we entered through a side door and made our way through some rather rude security guards who demanded that we "enter quickly, because of the cold".

Now looking forward to a nice relaxing dinner we are sorry to say that the experience was far from it. The serving staff were inattentive and seemed more concerned with gossiping among themselves than looking after the diners. After having our coats taken by a rather scantily dressed waitress, we were wished a "bonne soiree" and then categorically ignored. Eventually someone swanned over and gestured in the direction of a table. At this point one of us was in need of the bathroom. She found it unusable - they had not been cleaned and moreover there was no soap!

The service continued at its sluggish pace. Even though we had been reprimanded for our late entry it took ages for us to be attended to - at which point we were told to hurry up as the kitchen was about to close! We were handed our menus by a sullen looking waitress who could barely walk in her 10-inch heels and was unrecognisable as a waitress as she was carrying a handbag under her arm and wearing an 8-inch long skirt - although upon looking around the restaurant it occurred to us that this must be uniform for the waitresses in Georges. She was also rather irate when we asked for bread and water.

The food was quite nice but overpriced, and although the view was spectacular, neither of these, compared to the shocking service, unfindable entry and disgusting bathrooms, could have made the trip to Georges worth it.

Very nice place, spectacular views, great service, unique venue, definitely one place to go at least once for anybody visiting Paris.

The amazing thing is that George's is a consistent experience, and this for at least 10 years.
The food is good but not amazing, but it is not really the point of being there. They put too much mayonnaise in the tartare by the way :-)

We ate here on Christmas Eve, booked by our hotel. There are not a lot of restaurants open in paris on mondays, let alone christmas eve, so we were just grateful we had somewhere nice to go, even though some previous reviews have been somewhat unfavorable. However, we had a great night. The entrance to the restaurant is very difficult to find, as there is no signage, so we were glad someone on tripadvisor had mentioned the no entry elevator, which we eventually found. The views from the restaurant were fantastic. We were seated next to a window, although in a very very dark corner - we had to use our iPhones to read the menu - and clearly grouped with other English speakers, which was fine, because we had the most charming service. No sneering, no being told something was not available. The food was more than adequate - not brilliant, sure, but very nice. We had the carpaccio of beetroot, the truffle "cappuccino" and the oysters for entree, and the mandarin duck, filet chateau, tom yam sea bass and crying tiger beef for mains, then shared the citrus and raspberry tart and the chocolate pudding for dessert. The prices are about what we pay for the same quality in Perth (which is fairly expensive), so not a surprise to us. Combine the iconic building, the views, the exemplary service we received, and some good food, and we had a wonderful, memorable Christmas Eve.
