“The downstairs lunch "bar" in Fauchon' wine cave”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

This is a review of the downstairs lunch bar, located in the wine cave. With seats around a 3 sided sit down bar (side by side seating), there is a brief menu as well as separate special for each day. All dishes are fairly priced for Fauchon. Lyon Saucisson, salad frisee, caesar, soups, a variety of lovely desserts. Average main plat about 10-12 euros. WIne by the glass. Service fast and friendly.

Having now eaten there a few times, I have to say the food is moderately satisfying. I keep trying, but as yet, haven't hit gold. Caesar salad with chicken came with very tender, chicken slices and perfectly made croutons (worthy of eating, not shoving to the side), but the dressing critical for a good caesar, lacked pizzaz and depth. The lettuce had been chopped in tiny bits with a few large romaine leafs as edible decor. Saucisson Lyonnaise, one of my favorites, with hot potatoes is good, nothing out of the ordinary and fairly priced. Tarte Tatin definitely special and well worth ordering.

I would and will return, as much for the casual cave atmosphere as the food. It is fast if in a hurry. And the waiters who operate from the center of the bar are pleasant.

“Food central”
Reviewed January 22, 2013

If you can't take the wait at Laduree, wander over to Fauchon where there's a very credible lunch upstairs served comfortably and without all the frenetic rushing around. The store itself is an absolute delight, even to look at if you're not inclined to buy. The meal is satisfying and the service solicitous.

“20-30 euro per dish,, guess that is paris price”
Reviewed November 28, 2012

Ate here after a friend told me i should try it, food is good. I ordered the rabbit terrine and duck, rabbit 12 euro, duck 29 euro, you get half a breast and leg n thigh but after cooked it becomes small like size of chicken. They do have a set meal, 25 euro chef special dish withnglassof wine. I went at 2 pm and the place was packed still. They have a few asian workers, cause i read a comment here before that they were rude to asians. Im asian and i was treated ok by a male server, i guess i didnt get female one the japanese one had. I guess im not use to the high end prices of paris but come on... Paying 29 euro for a duck dish ( 40 usd) only plan to come to paris once so i did splurge. If asked if i would come back?... Yes i would if the prices was cheaper... The cafe on the other side of the street isnt cheap also. I guess this place is a total tourist trap?

“Shiny, whimsical”

I love the eye candy in the fauchon windows, and the array of eclairs. It's on the expensive side, but all the products are of good quality.
