Yesterday we had lunch at Paul's (the restaurant figures in the film "Midnight in Paris" :-).
The setting is very nice; a quite haven of peace in the middle of Paris. The staff was friendly, in a way. We only wanted a small lunch (no salads or so on the menu!) so the waiter suggested that we order just starters - we were fine with that! So we asked them if they propose any children's menu (we were a group of 9, including 4 children), the waiter suggested "Steak haché" (hamburger) with home fries - great (we thought). The surprise came with the bill - they charged 21 € per child for this one plate for Kids. When talking to the staff - who reacted a bit in an arrogant way - we were told as they do not have proper children menus, they proposed something (the hamburger) from the normal menu. We felt a bit betrayed; in particular as the plate was really nothing very special and for a normal adult's plate not very satisfying either. This annoyance made us forget about the starters, who actually were nice (Escargot, fine tarte and artichoke). Wine was ok.
I don't believe that any of us would go back to Paul's.
Please be aware that some of the reviews here below refer NOT to the right restaurant, but to some other place called “Paul”, offering bakery and snacks – definitely not this restaurant!
