“Excellent for a reasonably priced quick meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2014

You can choose from a range of about 20 great Moroccan/Turkish mezzes with lots of veggie choices. They also do a range of meat. The almond cheese cake was heavenly, called Petrushka?
It's very busy and crowded, but the staff are good and will get to you. Be patient. And the price is amazingly cheap. A real find for veggies if you like the mezze cuisine. You can choose a package of 4, 5 or 6 choices with bread extra. Delicious.

“An institution in Le Marais”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2014

Chez Marianne is an institution in Le Marais. However, it is not everybody's cup of tea. Food is greasy and not very tasty. Service not very accommodating. Situated in the heart of Le Marais it is popular among the devotees of the middle eastern food. But if you have no nostalgic connection to this place - just skip it..

“It's good!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2014 via mobile

We were two people eating a big plate of foods!!! Really delicious! And it's quite cheap comparing most of the restaurants in my area. Hopefully my friend speaks perfectly French, we didn't have any problem ordering. The service isn't too bad as long as you know how to communicate. We spent €19 each in the end.

“Truly disappointing”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2014

Dined at Chez Marianne yesterday and was seriously disappointed. The servers were rude. We were moved from table to table until they were happy with our seating, next to a family of 6 seated at a table for 4- with 3 out of control children. To say they were on top of us is an understatement. We should have left then. But I was in the mood for some good Mediterranean fare so we stayed. We ordered the sampling of ten menu items: hummus, grape leaves, tuna, roasted eggplant, a pickle, tapis- which was nothing more than very bitter chopped olives, etc. besides the olives and pickle, which we did not eat, the food was bland. It had none of the marvelous fresh tastiness of Mediterranean food. We will not return.

“I love this place but it's not for everyone”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2014

Depending on the time of day, one might walk right in and be seated or stand in a long line. I would describe the food and Middle Eastern/Jewish. Hummus, yoghurt, briques, pickled herring, roasted peppers--you name it. I love the sample plates where you can order 5 or 10 different things. The place is a little beat up, but that adds to the charm. Once seated, service is fast and the bill does not break the bank. The baklava and pastries are so tasty too.
