Description: Situated in one of the hottest areas of Paris, in the 5th arrondissement opposite the iconic Notre Dame and close to the Saint Michel metro station is the brasserie restaurant Le Petit Pont. Enjoying an incredibly privileged position, the restaurant is open for breakfast from 8am until 11.30am serving poached eggs, various cold meats, cheese, seasonal fruits and pastries. Lunchtimes and evenings offers a choice of two menu styles- Italian and French, the latter including the most delicious meat from Auvergne. The soothing sounds from the piano create an intimate atmosphere and the special cocktails prepared by the barman are just divine.

“Nothing special”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

After visiting Notre Dame and wandering around the area for a bit we stopped here for a spot of light lunch and were encouraged by how busy it was and how friendly the staff were. The waiters soon showed us to a tiny table - was delighted that the couple at the next table left quite soon as I was nearly sitting on his knee! Chairs & tables have seen better days. Ordered basic food, croque monsieur & ham & cheese baguette, and easily could have bought these at a stall further up the road for a fraction of the price and taste just as good if not better. My husband ordered a large beer which is usually the 50cl option in every other cafe/restaurant - here it was about 150cl @ 15 euros! Also brought me a large drink which he did not give me the option of when taking order. The table across from us ordered chicken burgers and had to complain about them and send them back. Wished I had visited the toilets before we ordered as I would have went elsewhere for food. They were a complete mess. Must not have been looked at since early in the morning (we visited about 3.00pm). A real tourist trap and rip off.

“We had fun !”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2013

Because it was raining and we were there, we went in.

Waiters were super nice and very happy.

Food was OK, pricey (hey it is 50 meters from Notre-Dame !) but acceptable.

No problem

“Friendly Staff”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2013 via mobile

Early on a Sunday morning, it was one of the few places open so we stopped in to get out of the pouring rain. The service was very friendly and food was good (eggs & bacon in a pot). It was a little pricey, but worth it to be so close to the metro & Notre Dame.

“Tourist rip off”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2013

My girlfriend and I had stumbled upon this restaurant after visiting the notre dame. After wandering a bit we saw it was bustling full of diners and stupidly assumed that it must have been a good restaurant. So we were seated to our flimsy, cramped table and had our order taken. Being students on a budget we carefully looked at the prices but made the fatal mistake of not paying attention to the EXTORTIONATE prices of the drinks - 16.40 Euros for two regular pepsi's!!!!! Which practically DOUBLED our bill. The manager was rude to his staff, openly having a go at them in front of customers - how demoralising. One american lady was seriously unhappy with the managers behaviour towards her and made sure we all knew about it. He was not in the slightest bit interested. The food was average and rather small for what we paid (12-14 euros) and when we were given the bill we had the manager and another waiter hovering over us presumably waiting for a tip. We did not tip as we felt the service wasn't worthy and certainly not after being ripped off.

“Lunch with a view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2013

Had lunch here twice during my recent trip to Paris. Not only is it a great location, a view of Notre- Dame, but also a great place for people watching.Of course, opt for outside seating!
I adored the Salade Gourmande. It is an ample amount of salad greens topped with tomatoes, figs, foie gras and pieces of duck tossed in a viniagrette served in a bread bowl. Absolutely fabulous!!!!!
The beverages are high priced, watch out for large sizes, order small sized beverages.
