If you want to beat the lunch crowd and have the place a bit more to yourself, get here around 2. I did so and the tables next to me on either side were vacant and the upstairs dining room kept clearing out slowly as I ate. Me and my friend ordered a whole gaggle of plates that amounted to an approximately $100 lunch for the both of us, but it was well worth it. The waitstaff were completely gracious and had no issue conversing in English with us. We ordered the foie gras, pumpkin soup, soft boiled egg covered in bread crumbs, pork chop, artichoke salad, chocolate tarte, and ile flottant. Everything was amazing (minus the chocolate tarte, which was too rich IMO). I think this is a great starting point in discovering Constant's dining empire. Enjoy!

No bookings allowed, so you need to get there early to get a table. Yes you're packed in like sardines, yes there's hardly anywhere to stand whilst you're waiting to be seated, but it's definitely worth it! So much charm and well cooked food that it is a must if you're in the 7th arr one evening and fancy a nice meal

This is a typical cafe parisien. We had a nice lunch there, with the neighboring table practically on top of us. Typical Paris, and we loved it!!

We arrived at Cafe Constant a little before 7pm and got in line for dinner. They start seating at 7pm and you can choose upstairs or downstairs. We choose upstairs as downstairs seemed really small but it was just as "cozy" upstairs. You are VERY close to your neighbors and tables have to be pulled out for you to get in. If you don't mind that atmosphere then you will be fine! Most of the guests spoke English and the staff as well so there weren't many language barriers. For dinner we started with the minced rabbit appetizer special which was tasty served on toasted bread. The creamy pumpkin soup app was delicious and by far the best soup I've ever had!! The shrimp app was also tasty. For entrees we had the duck potato pie and beef stew and both were excellent and very tender! All the food went well with the Bordeaux recommendation from our waiter. Service was also great and FAST! We were in and out in 1 hour on a saturday night. This is definitely not the environment where you linger after dinner. We would definitely recommend!

As part of the Constant stable of three Paris establishments (all in the same street), you would expect the food here to be very good. And it is, although perhaps not as exceptional as some have said. We knew this was a café and therefore did not expect terrific decor but it was quite plain. The worst thing is that while we were still eating (you can eat at any time but after 3pm and until dinner time, the selection is limited), two staff members set about scrubbing down the stairs to the upper floor. Aside from the fact that this made going to the loo a bit hazardous, it was not a pretty sight. Cleanliness is great but not necessarily an aesthetic addition to eating.
