This is real deal of Parisienne Brasseries. Two minutes walk from Chateau d'eau Metro station. Don't miss the little street its on as it has an archway and therefore doesnt look much like a street. Once there savour the beautiful cobbled street (magically lite at night). If you have only one dinner experience in Paris and want to experience a traditional Parisienne Brasserie then make it this establishment. You will not be disappointed. Fabulous dark wooden interior. Traditional menu. Fair prices for the standard of cuisine and type of establishment. Great wine selection including by the glass and half bottles. The service was excellent in that manner which strikes the perfect balance between convivial and professional. As the evening wore on the atmosphere became louder but fun and friendly. I had a lobster salad to start and a steak with dauphinoise potatoes both cooked to perfection. A little pricey at Eur100 for one with wine but I ordered a la carte. Ordering a set menu will reduce that. In any case go there if you want that special occasion in Paris.

A real experience in authentic French dinning- no allowances made for wimpy foreigners! We loved it! The menu had no English translation and included many French 'horrors' such as Foie Gras, Steak Tartarte, Calf's head, and many varieties oysters! The staff were efficient and twinkly- but not overly friendly or aloof. The decor was fabulous and the atmosphere one of murmuring appreciation. Rather expensive ( bit so is all Paris) but definitely worth it for the experience.

On our recent family trip to Paris, we decided to splash out on dinner on a Saturday night at Brasserie Flo. We had reserved in advance through their handy online reservation system, and were shown directly to our table. The great plus of Brasserie Flo is the decor and the service - the waiters are friendly and very efficient and the layout is of a true Parisian brasserie. Which means not much room to maneuver between tables but a great atmosphere!
The menu leans heavily towards French favorites, like foie gras, steak tartar, etc. but there is also quite an Alsatian influence on the menu (especially the wines) and there is a great selection of fish and seafood. In fact, as you enter the restaurant, you pass a few market stalls displaying the selections of the day, and that is truly where your dinner is coming from, should you order the oysters, crab, lobster or other fishy delights.
We all ordered different things, both on the menu and à la carte and while we all found the food quality OK, nothing stood out as being truly worth writing home about. The desserts were probably the highlight, although the portion sizes were challenging!
Including 1.5 bottles of wine and some kir to start with, our dinner came to around EUR 250 for four of us. For that price, I expect the quality to be a little better. But we did thoroughly enjoy the experience, so I would still recommend a visit!

we booked a table for 6 for saturday night for 9pm - the table wasn't available but we were immediately directed to the bar for a complimentary glass of champagne, and then another! when we did sit down all staff were very efficient, what you would expect from this type of restaurant - food was good and very reasonably priced for what we had. Flo was full and the atmosphere animated.

Hmm. Was hoping for better than this. Booked a table for 4 on a Tuesday evening, around 8:30. Wife and I, 14 year old son and adult guest from overseas.
For some reason I was expecting this to be more enticing and more satisfying than around the corner at Julien. However, the atmosphere was mediocre. Yes, they got the pianola going, 3 times, and it was fun, but the place is getting quite run down and some of that nostalgic character is starting to look more like a run down old brasserie. Yes, the staff was quite nice. Really though, it was the food that let it down.
We had a mix of the a la carte and the set menu. Wife and friend had the steak of the day which really looked like 2 different steaks. Two different thicknesses and both ordered å point but one was almost closer to bien cuit and the other very rare, definitely saignant. Mine was a different cut and perfectly a point. The onion marmalade/caramelised onion accompaniment was pretty bland. No life to it whatsoever.
Our son had a truffle dish as it was a promotion and we all tasted it hoping for a wonderful transportation to an underground world of flavour. It tasted like mushroom. Not the fragrant mustiness of other fresh truffle dishes I've had.
Oh well...an off night perhaps?
We have tried Julien and had a great meal and will try the others in this group/chain as we have signed up for the fidelity card. Will keep you posted.
