On a blustery afternoon on April 23rd, we retreated to this adorable wine bar, after a long a day of walking and shopping in the 7th. Our waiter set the two of us up under the canopied outdoor seating area, with two little round tables, and our chairs facing outwards looking at the streetside view. We ordered a bottle of wine, and enjoyed a late afternoon appetizer of toasted Poilane bread with smoked salmon and capers. It was delightful! Americans in Paris have to "obey the rules": Smile, attempt to speak French, Smile, and you will be treated with professional courtesy (which is not chatty). A smile goes a long way. I have never had a bad experience in Paris. Just enjoy the ambiance, and think "manners" and your behavior will be reciprocated. The bill ("l'addtion, s'il vous plait") never comes. You need to ask for it, when you are ready to leave.

This bar looked fab and had a brilliant menu. We sat at a lovely table as directed by our waiter and after 20 minutes we got up and left. The waiter ignored my first attempt to order (I said excuse me in French) and my decide attempt was met with a very rude 'j'arrive'. After 20 minutes of watching other people come in after us and be served wine and food, we had enough. No idea what this guy's problem was! A great shame.

A nice, welcoming place for a casual cup of coffee - which comes with a glass of water.
A good, heated terrace but the inside is good - wonderfully decorated/cartooned walls, some a little risque, vicar, a very pleasant staff and the feeling you could stay comfortably all day.
