We had a fabulous experience at Au Pied de Cochon. It's a very attractive restaurant. There were 6 of us and we all loved our food. And to top it off, we had the most fun waiter and restaurant manager. They made the evening even more delightful than it already was. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Loved the food..it was so different but still had that quintessential french base.

The maitre d' was terrific and even gave us complimentary cocktails on the night. He then kept pouring my wine glass even though I only asked for one glass. What a legend! He kept the kids entertained and made us laugh with his quirky French humour.

Well done on making our meal one too remember. Thank you from Australia!

This famous restaurant never closes, which is rare for Paris. There is always a varied selection on the menu. The shellfish are fresh and of high quality. The staff are very friendly as are the patrons. Tourists make a point of eating here, as it's written up in many guide books. It is good value for your money, but remember that this is a high end Brasserie, so expect to spend some money for a great meal.

Don't order the duck confit. We had it several other places on our tour of France and it was great. Here it was rubbery. The waiters were clearly novices but well meaning and tried really hard. There were only 2 or 3 serving 40 of us on the third floor. Salad was outstanding and the fruit salad like what you would buy in a can of fruit cocktail. Maybe it was so poor because we were with an upscale tour group and there were 40 of us at this dinner. The head waiter was arrogant and clearly could use a course in customer relations. He embarrassed my husband when he asked for a beer and it seemed at least to us, that delivery was delayed until after he had tried to eat what passed for dinner. The manager was apologetic and even gave us a book on the history of this beautiful place. A pity the food and service did not match the beauty of the environment. On the up side, not eating my dinner was good for my waistline.
