“Girls Trip to Paris”
Reviewed April 17, 2014

The concierge recommended this restaurant...we didn't want to get in a cab and strolled there from our hotel. Even though we got there at 9:30 pm they seated us and were very polite. Brought us English menus even though we did not ask. Very old traditional brasserie, over 100 years old. So lots of ambiance...we were the only English speaking patrons in a room of French speakers, so it was not touristy at all, which we love. So late to eat so we all ordered poached fish, came in a light creamy sauce with new spring potatoes. Delicious. Dessert of fruit salad and sorbet. didn't rush us out...stayed to almost midnight.

“Old world charm not quite matched by food”
Reviewed March 19, 2014

Ate here late ish (9.30) on a Friday night. Lovely old Parisian brasserie decor, got shown to a side room full of English speakers which was a little odd. Service was ok, drinks, food order, etc was efficient and polite but the day's special had run out. Starers and main courses were fine but deserts were very poor...been around for a while.

Reviewed March 1, 2014

Loved this resaurant, staff very helpfull, great food and wine. Great ambaince and decor. Stayed at the Millennium round the front and went to look for somewhere to eat.. must have walked past this place at least twice and tbh we thought we were taking a chance. But from the time we walked in till the time we left it was top class.

“Good but not as good as before”
Reviewed February 9, 2014

Having reserved a table, we arrived on time and got given a table that a couple had just turned down: by the kitchen door. The food is typical French brasserie and so is the decor. The restaurant need to be careful about the service as we got ignored a few times.

Excellent parisien restaurant in a truly classical atmosphere.I have been going here for 20 years and enjoy the ambience and food.Service is fast and efficient.I found the food better than last year.Very good quenelle. The haddock was well balanced in a delicious sauce. As usual the Cote de Veau is brilliant.Good wine selection.Excellent choice near the Opera.
