“Small rooms and bathroom”
Reviewed April 12, 2014

Spent 5 nights here - the staff is absolutely wonderful, pleasant and helpful for the most part. This is a boutique hotel - but the rooms are very, very small. One could barely walk around the bed and obtained a Superior Deluxe Room with a balcony that is a postage stamp - not worth any extra cost The bathroom, likewise is small and the egress from the tub is downright dangerous as it is a substantial drop to the floor, there is no grab bar, and you are wet. I think this is a risk for clients. We had also noted on the second day that the handrail in the elevator was loose, we let the front desk know on two occasions, it was never fixed while we were there and I am sure it just needed some bolt tightened. This also could have been a risk if someone leaned on this.

The location is wonderful near the Gare St Lazare and the Metros. Restaurants in the general area were a disappointment however, and we did much better when we travelled away. As long as you have expectations that the room will be small, you would not be disappointed - for us, spending 5 nights with American gluttony for roominess, it was claustrophobic.

Room Tip: Would avoid paying extra for a balcony

Dear Agrob,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a comment.

You are right our hotel got small rooms and small bathroom but we do have a good quality price ratio. But we do have 6 different categories of room. Probably better to reserve the superior if you are staying for a long stay.

Thank you for the Staff, they do a lot to make people happy, and we all love to make people happy.

About the handrail in the elevator, we did fixed it and we thank you very much for telling us.

All the best,
Sébastien

our stay in Paris - Hotel WO. After a very warm welcome at reception we made our way to our room. When we walked in to Room 602 we were impressed with the design; it was modern and comfortable. After the rough bed we slept in at our previous accomodation we were very happy to find the mattress to our liking (although we wished there were a choice of some firmer pillows in the room as they were all a bit soft). Another positive we found was that we were pleasantly surprised to find the bathroom to be more spacious than we were expecting. Being close to St Lazare Station made it easy enough to get everywhere around the city but be prepared for a longish walk to the major sites if you want to make your way by foot.

For the most part we had enjoyed our four nights there however there were a couple of small flaws in our stay. The Wi-Fi is not of great quality, it cut out a lot more than it should have. Also, the shower's water temperature would fluctuate without touching the tap.

Dear Sam,

Thank you so much for your 5* comment, it is helping us a lot.

About the water, I remember you and during your stay we had a problem with the water. It is now fixed, and I want to apologize about that. Thank to you, and your comment we fixed the problem.

For the Wifi our technician is finding the solution. The problem is that the people are using more and more their Iphone, tablet and computer in the same time. All this multiplied bu 30 rooms. Trust me we invested in 2013 a lot of money for Internet but it is very hard to find the perfect solution.

Next time you come the problem will be fixed.

Thank you again for all your advice,

Best,
Sébastien

Would highly recommend this little hotel. Incredibly convenient location and easy to get to all areas of Paris. Close to a supermarket, patisserie and restaurants. Although close to railway, Metro and busses we walked everywhere. Only a few blocks to Printemps and Galleries Lafayette.
All the staff are friendly and really helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are clean and fresh with everything to make the stay comfortable. We requested a room with a balcony and we loved eating our breakfast and dinners on the balcony. We could see the Eiffel Tower from the balcony which we loved.
Would stay here again if returning to Paris. Have no hesitation in recommending this hotel it was excellent.

The hotel was easy to find and it was a 5 minute walk from Saint-Lazare and Haussmann Saint-Lazare station. When we first arrived at the hotel, we were greeted straight away by the gentleman at the front desk. As my sister is a VIP Expedia member and we booked through her, we were upgraded to what he said was 'the best room in the hotel', including free use of the mini bar and free breakfast which came as a nice surprise. He then kindly helped us with our luggage and when we first got to our room we were blown away by the view of the Eiffel Tower from our roof top terrace.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, we had a choice of many things and we also had it brought up to our room one morning so we could enjoy the views of Paris. We did ask the front desk a few questions about the area and he told us about good and reasonable restaurants nearby and also he was very helpful with explaining the metro and directions on foot.

Overall the staff were friendly and extremely helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel WO. I will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family and when I return I will be booking this hotel again.

We stayed 3 nights in Hotel Wilson Opera and from the moment we arrived to the time we left Paris, we thanked our stars for choosing this boutique hotel. This place is at a nice location, not very far from all main attractions and only 2 min away from Gare Saint-Lazare. In fact we walked to most of the places during our trip. At other times, we just took the trains from Saint Lazare station.

The overall service was great. Absolute value for money. Our room was decent sized but God, that bed was the definition of comfort. The washroom was small but really sophisticated equipped with great toiletries and even a towel heater!!!!

The Hotel Manager, Sebastian Grandchild is a gem of a person for sure.

I remember the last day of our trip, we went shopping to the Galleries Lafayette and totally forgot that we'll be running late for our train to Amsterdam at Gare du Nord. Unfortunately that day the taxis were on strike and we had no idea about it. With only 15 min left in our train departure, we knew we were missing our train. But then this amazing gentlemen, Mr. Grandchild offered to drop us in his own car to the train station and thanks to him, we made it in time for our train to Amsterdam.

That little gesture of his made us this Hotel's loyal customers. Next time, we come to Paris, we know exactly where we're staying!

This was our first trip to Paris and only stayed here 2 nights. The service we received was great and definitely made our stay more comfortable knowing you had people at the front desk who were always eager to help with a smile! The hotel itself is small but very modern. The room was tiny but we literally just showered and slept in it as we were out all day. The fact that it is just one block from a central metro station makes it a great location! We took the metro everywhere we went and it was always easy to find our way back. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We didn't ask for an upgrade so we didn't get one. If you want a room with a view or balcony...

Hi,

What a wonderful comment on the hotel and our services, we thank you very much for sharing them on Tripadvisor.
Regarding our rooms the size depends on the category that you booked (Parisian size).
The entire team and myself were sincerely touched by your comment and your satisfaction.

We all hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again.

This is a return to Paris for us and had to stay here again...there is so much going for it..
The room had a balcony which was wonderful for coffee outside in the sunshine...but because it was street side and noisy at 0500 you will need the patio doors closed and the ac on.
There is a great transport link nearby and the restaurants and shopping excellent. We did not take the breakfast in the hotel which l believe is €16....but ate in excellent pastry shops nearby.
Excellent staff are very helpful.

Dear Chris,

First, thank you so much for taking the time to white such a nice comment! 5* is helping us a lot cause we are a very small hotel.

We are very happy you had a good stay. Nevertheless next time, I'll suggest to try our 14 Euros full buffet breakfast cause there is all what you need and the quality is very good.

If you do not want to spend 14 Euros, we can offer you a 7 Euros breakfast (Nespresso coffee or tea, croissant and fresh orange juice)

We love our business and all the team would love to welcome you again.

Best,
Sébastien
