Such a lovely place. So glad it came recommended. I joined at Bastille end. What is the metro at the opposite end of the 3 mile walk?

This lovely walkway has been built on top of an old railway line, it covers over 5km and has Been planted with a variety of trees and plants and is beautifully maintained.it is on an elevated position therefore it is above thr
Traffic pollution of the busy city.
You can go for a go for a nice long walk along the footpath and if you feel a bit tired there are benches all along
The walk. Very pleasant oasis in the middle of Paris

This is a great way to reuse the old metro tracks. It’s a nice walk with some interesting views and nice flora and fauna.

Very relaxing for an after work stroll.

This is Paris' answer to New York's Highline. It's a recycled elevated railroad line that continues at ground level, now a lovely green space linked to lots of parks. Great for hikers, folks on bikes or roller blades. Great way to see the east side of town.

We walked about 2/3rds of the Promenade des Plantes and would recommend looking up several great blogs about the walk with extended photos if you want to know which areas will interest you the most. We entered at Bel-Air (line 6) and walked towards Bastille as we walked to combine the walk with a visit to Marche D'Algerie on the way back. Near Bel-Air the walk is not on elevated railway bridges but quiet paths (cycle and jogging) under foot tunnels (some with rocky water features) and across parks. We enjoyed the arched metal bridge at le jardin de Reuilly and then the way the walk cuts through the 2 blocks of flats. The water feature is peaceful. Saw some lovely roses in July and interesting murals on some houses. Very quiet (noise wise) even though you are in the city. An oasis!
